I'm kinda torn on the idea on nerfn inferno. It's kinda to hard right now. But you should
Have to farm gear in the previous act to compete in the next act. But it doesn't seem like that kind of loot drops in act 1. Also. Stacking all res + whatever seems like our gimping dps an forcing people to go a defensive build which they din want in the first place. O well. All in all I enjoy the game trying to get every char to 60.

yep

Decided to wade through the vile cesspit known as the bnet d3 general forums for 10 minutes

In between the hundred whine threads, I found out they're nerfing inferno

Unlike when I played d2 a ton, I now have responsibilities and a life and shite. My point? As a casual player I have a lot of fun on d3

If I was still hardcore 10 hour a day gamer, yeah id probably not like d3 and be crying on forums too, while calling everyone who cant kill inferno diablo with 5 nv stacks a badkid.

but for what I'm looking for in a PC game, Diablo 3 delivers.

Yeah, they are nerfing Act 2-4. Also increasing the drop rate in Act 3 and 4.

Who here has made it to 60 without using the AH or farming shite over and over?

Why would you not use the AH? Really seems pointless and mind numbing not to.

You're essentially forced to use it, due to the paucity of decent drops. And when the RMAH launches, anything worth selling will most likely be sold there.

And inferno isn't difficulty because it requires strategy, reflexes, and skill, or at least not to the extent that this would exclude a large portion of the player base. It's difficult because most people simply don't have the gear needed to get through it.

So, here we have a loot system where, by design, decent, relavant drops to one's character are exceptionally low, thus forcing one to use the (RM)AH to progress, whereby Blizzard gets a fixed cut from every transaction.

They've essentially established a revenue stream for D3 akin to a subscription service. You might as well pay them $15 a month to play D3, as you would for WoW. It may end up being cheaper.

Bingo.

Exactly why I've spent $30 for a little over 2 million cold since I hit level 50, and maxed out my gear for Inferno the other night when I hit 60.

Because the RMAH will take away most of those great items I just bought for gold, and for much much cheaper than what they'll go for on the RMAH.

I don't think I used the AH before I got to 60. If I did, it wasn't for much.

If you sell all of your drops for real cash and never really cash out.. you could conceivably think of RMAH as another virtual money system.

15% transaction fee for the AH, and if you cash out, they take another 15%. Basically 30% of all of the money you could potentially make on D3 could be turned into Blizzard profit. Say a group of friends farm inferno and get great drops and sell them on the RMAH. Say they pull in $2k/week by doing so.. a group of 4. Blizzard would pull in $600 from them alone per week. Damn.. That's way better money than subscription service. But.. it still could be lucrative for those that want to grind for 8-10 hours a day, selling gear. Those 5 people in the scenario I laid out would still each walk out with about $350 per week. Not great money, but feasible to live on for a basement-dwelling nerd

Once this goes live, the GAH will be nonexistent, for decent items at least.

I do not mind grinding, but inferno Belial should not be dropping level 56 rares. Heck, inferno Butcher dropped level 51 rares a few times for me. Only 60 level rares should drop from inferno bosses/champions/elites PERIOD. This is my #1 complaint about the game.
