Haven't had time to play much. Beat normal solo, planning on playing through the rest with friends. Sucks that it's no longer 8 person games. How does joining games work in D3 compared to D2? Like what happens when a someone at a lower level and only in Act 1 joins someone who is at a higher level and in ACT IV? And vice versa.

unless you have a buddy jumping in who's a higher level, when you join public games it puts you with people of your level or close to it on whatever quest you're on.

Yeah I have a few friends who I'll be joining. Pretty sure they're a few levels higher than me. Hell, I know a couple are level 60, what happens if they join my Act 1 Nightmare game? I assume not much, since they already beat that quest at that difficulty and they're already maxed out, getting little to no exp from monsters well below their level isn't an issue.
What if they make a game on a quest in Act IV nightmare for some reason, and I join it, although I'm still on Act 1 nightmare? Will I be really under prepared and die easy but get good XP? What about checkpoints? Do I get credit for that quest if we complete it?
Is XP split in multiplayer games?

holy crap on the difference a build makes lol 
I was still in WoW and EQ mindset where you had to have a certain level of gear to make certain specs work. I have only been using gear that I had drop for me with nothing bought off of AH so was staying with a more defensive build. Got frustrated with beginning of Act IV nightmare and took a break to level other characters. Changed barbarian from using call of ancients and ground stomp with battlecry...went to wrath of berzerker, war cry and something else (cant remember now without looking)....went back to act 3 quest to destroy the ballistae and trebuchet to look for the cave for the staff components.....was mowing through groups of 20-30 with yellows and packs of blues thrown in would never drop below 50% health.
Going to have to try and finish nightmare to get into hell tonight now lol

Same here with a adjustment to my spec and gear I took finished Nightmare pretty easy on my Barb, but I am only level 49 and it started me on nightmare again anyone know why

I posted on the soccer board a good bit, just not recently. Ever since Galaxy shipped Bowen to chivas USA and then off to some shithole team in the arse end of the world I have been in mourning except for National team games.
