Americas region service update: Service expected to return by 11:45 p.m. PDT as we work to resolve these issues.
They said 1:45 CDT.
ETA: You fixed it.

Looks like servers are down again
Honestly, I'm sad about this as we had a nice group looking to do a Nightmare speed run, but I'm not really that upset. I keep seeing stuff like "SWTOR didn't have these issues!" It's a ridiculous point. First of all, SWTOR had and still has issues, which is why its player base doesn't play. Secondly, Diablo 3 may turn out to be one of the most massively purchased games of all time, and judging by what the errors were at first, their request and resource handling is being changed for efficiency. This happens for the same reason Twitter used to crash, and still does, anytime anything newsworthy worldwide happens. No matter how much you work on it, you can never truly prepare for millions of people all logging on at one time. If anything, Blizzard's desire to keep the playing field fair and releasing it for everyone at once has come back to bite them. I, for one, respect the engineers who have probably been there for almost 24 hours and are still there working to get it done. I'd rather them fix it with a valid direction of where they're going than to keep it up with the chance of crashes.

Only could play 1hr after work yesterday.
Very addicting to say the less. Really feel involved in the story line.

I feel lucky that I was able to get about 4 hours of playing in before the servers shite the bed. Considering it was the opening day launch of freaking Diablo 3, I can't complain too much.
Things will continue to get better day by day.

Hardcore =/= difficulty mode. Hardcore = when you die, that character is dead for good. Unlocks when you reach level 10 with a character.
People who enjoy this mode have something wired wrong upstairs I think.

So now that most everyone has gotten to play for at least a little while (assuming you didn't play in the beta), what are your initial thoughts? Do you think you will like it more or less than Diablo 2? Do you think the significant changes, such as being able to re-roll your character, taking +skill items away, having synergies, etc., are going to improve the game or hurt the game?

Its hard to like it more than D2, just due to the nostalgia and all the memories I had playing with friends. The way they integrated your skills is just awesome though, I like it much more than the typical skill tree tech.

I'm completely new to the series, so obviously I have no foundation in this style of game. But I'm just going to say that I absolutely hate the control scheme. It's so flipping counter intuitive, IMO. I suppose I'll get used to it, but I don't get why it would have been so hard to incorporate ASDW.

I'm a little lost, with the witch doctor I have a sword attached but I dont ever use it. Do I get the sat benefits because it is attached? Or does it do nothing since my primary is poison darts?
In general I think they dumbed the game down, somethings I appreciate but somethings I miss with the stat builds.

I can see that. Change your hotbar binds to ASDW, then you can use them.

I think he means so he can walk around?
But anyways, who says ASDW? it's WASD or WADS.
