I may just be stupid but how do you pick the different difficulty modes?

That's what I thought too but I hear some people talking about hardcore mode, and I'm not entirely sure what that is nor how to choose it

Hardcore =/= difficulty mode. Hardcore = when you die, that character is dead for good. Unlocks when you reach level 10 with a character.

Picked up the game after work. Ate dinner and installed it. Went to my softball playoff games. Came home and took a shower. Fired up the computer. Watch the intro. Got the server is down message.
