Did a little research on the DLC for Evolve. Turns out all the DLC you can buy right now is only skins.
While that season pass will eventually get you 4 new characters to play with.... Those 4 characters are not even released yet. So there is no reason to buy any DLC. Think of it like the season pass for COD. They will release them down the road.

I will buy that game and play it tonight if the rest do. My fear is that I'll get it and no one else will and I'll be stuck with an $80 PVP game to play by myself.

Playstation.com > sign in > Playstation store > Purchase Evolve > Download Evolve.
As long as you have your PS4 on standby mode and it is connected to the internet you should be good.
