If anything we need to restart on normal. I don't think we are getting much further on hard.

I really don't care what we do FYI, normal raid, hard raid checkpoint or Iron Banner. Let's just get it going.

Why? You won't get anything until we get through the Gate keeper and beat Atheon regardless of difficulty. It's like the Weekly for coins. If you do it on the hardest difficulty, you're not going to get anything when doing it on a lower difficulty after you completed it. Now, if you started at the lowest difficulty and completed it and then played the next higher difficulty, you'll get 3 more coins (not 6) and so on until you get 9 total coins.

The thing is, All we have to do is complete the Gatekeeper part, which we got very close to last time, and you get double rewards. Which is more than running the entire thing on normal would get you. A few different guns are drops though.
Edit to add:
Our status on raid armor drops.
If rest of raid completed on normal:
1 chance at arms
1 chance at legs
2 chances at Chest
If gatekeeper completed on Hard:
2 chances at arms
2 chances at legs
2 chances at chest
If rest of raid completed on Hard:
2 chances at arms
2 chances at legs
4 chances at chest
1 chance at helm
