one day, devs will finally move on from zombie games and tiresome open world activities.
loved this comment. you can already see these types coming out of the woodworks:

I'm already rolling my eyes at all the "critics are just haters, the game is perfect for what it's trying to be, people were expecting too much" comments that are no doubt on the way. Just like they were for every less than stellar exclusive (see: Crackdown 3, Order 1886, etc.).

I liked what I saw and the previews seemed positive. Now I'm a little worried about the reviews, but I think I will still pick it up.

Welp, probably waiting for this to go on sale now.

ACG said wait for sale, or deep deep sale for PC
ETA: goof ^, it's not on PC. he usually reserves deep deep for PC and I forgot it's not on PC

Days Gone is the apotheosis of the more-is-more philosophy: more bars to fill, more gates to progress, more zombies per square inch because “more” is supposed to fill the hole where some semblance of meaning ought to be. It’s the purest example yet of the video game as mere content to be consumed, down to the very fact that each storyline you’re supposed to be emotionally invested in is marked with a completion percentage. Days Gone is a void.

goof on my part.
he usually says "deep deep sale" for PC since PC prices tend to have much lower price floors, but he used it here and I wasnt thinking
quote:
This is 'Wait for a sale' and I would say that, depending on your technical issues, there's gonna be a lot of people who might want to actually look at this as a 'Deep, deep sale'.

Sluts can't have a voice in video games now?

They can. Don’t trust em though

Haven't played the game yet obviously, so this is all speculative on my part.
The gameplay when you're interacting with and battling the zombie hoards actually looks quite fun.
I'm strongly of the opinion this game had no real compelling reason to go with an 'open-world' concept, which everyone is saying is completely stock and unremarkable.
If you took the stuff this game actually looks to have done very well and structure it in a more tight, traditional linear video game format, it probably would have been a better overall game.
Instead it looks to have drown their good stuff in a sea of open world mediocrity.
I'll keep an eye on the reviews and watch people playing it a bit and stuff, I'm still open to getting it as the zombie hoard stuff does really look quite neat. I just don't want to have to slog through hours of open world crap to get to them.

I'll wait to see watch videos on the reviews and not pay attention to the score. Maybe Sony made them do it open world to differentiate it from The Last of Us.

Happy Gamers Review
This guy seems like me. I knew going in this game was a hodge podge of other games. The story looks interesting. So i think if you've been looking forward to it, it won't disappoint you. But if you are looking for some new revolutionary game then this probably not it. But we will see tomorrow

Wierd to see a PS4 exclusive this generic and shallow looking.

Watched his review before and he sold me on it. I think a lot of the knocks against the game don’t bother me. Love open world games, I own no zombie open world game and it looks like a fun game. Also giving out DLC for free. Just hope it doesn’t let me down.

Some redundancy in that statement.

Played about an hour last night. Overall the story and characters seem really good. like way better than a 5/10 or whatever the hell gamespot gave it. I will say it doesn't feel like a 2019 PS4 exclusive game. It is very very noticable when you go from gameplay to cutscene. And there are alot of cutscenes so far. The crafting is amazing. Think Last of Us online type stuff.

The controls on this game, especially gun play are pitiful. Really disappointed in this game.
