I think Bloodborne has the most consistently good bosses, but prefer the ones where the camera doesn't become a problem (Gehrman, Maria). I've fought one 'big' boss in this game, and I got stuck in a wall.
I've fought like 3 gimmick bosses in a row. You can go do other bosses, but they're too abundant early on. Abyss Watchers is top-tier though.

Cleric beast had terrible camera issues. Ds2 had too many bosses. I hope ds3 isn't the same.

I hate that the bullshite from Bloodborne is back where enemies can hit while you're on the fricking ground.

Decided I wanted the uchi for my build... Beat the hollowed warrior without cheating last night

I actually went back to get it after I infused my twinblades with fire and took him out on the first try. Most likely weak to fire. I'm not sold on the uchi yet though, the wind down seems slow. I think overall I was doing better with the sell swords in my DEX build

I've felt like the bosses so far are really easy. They may take one play through to learn the "mechanic" of that fight and then its pretty easy.
Road of Sacrifice pvp has been my most enjoyable thing so far. Went 4-1 last night not counting NPC phantoms. clear out the swamp, ember up and have fun.

I was rather amused by finding a giant enemy crab. I'm a sorcerer so I just ran my arse by the entire swamp to find the next bonfire.

I am not having too terribly difficult of a time early on other than these guys with spears and shields. Any tips on fighting these guys?

Finally got to start playing last night! I'm going with a Herald for my first run. I imagine it will be a dex-faith build. Ditched the spear, and bought a halberd from Emma, which I've upgraded to +2. Didn't get too far, only unlocked the shortcut from the first bonfire down to where you just fought the big fat halberd knight dude.
Gameplay feels great! Much more DS1 than DS2, thankfully. My only real annoyance right now is the bonfire glitch. Every time I load up the game it defaults lighting back to medium, and if I forget to turn it to low before loading my game it crashes.

The Lotharic Knight under the Tower bonifre is wrecking the shite out of me. I'm using that area to farm souls and when I get to him he wrecks me. I heard he drops his shield and it gives you 100% blocking as a rare drop but I can't consistently kill the bastard.

Also picked up the Astora Straight Sword. Might upgrade it, and infuse it with raw gem. Seems like it would make for a decent early game weapon.

This. Roll past them and to the right a bit as they thrust. Easy backstab

Yeah, I just bait into attack and spam R1. It seems they stun easily, at least with the halberd. I haven't had much luck trying to backstab as they just spam the shield bash.
