frick dudes who invade your world and then hide behind PVE ads. The fact that the invader can run through the summoner'so world untouched really annoys the shite out of me.

PvP in these games has always been kind of like that. I did some in ds2 yesterday and they do the same; start whipping their arse and they'll run off and heal or hide behind enemies. The biggest problem with Bloodborne pvp is that's it's a heal-fest.

I was kicking some butt and then I lost power.

I'm on team heal. After refusing to heal at first, I've realized that its an important part of PvP. Duels last 20 seconds if nobody heals. The healing animation can be parried and you have numbing mist to counter it. It adds to the strategy IMO instead of button mashing for 20 seconds. When they are about to heal and be vulnerable as they back off but they know that you know this so they try to go on the offensive instead makes things interesting. It's an important mechanic that's meant to be used. The real problem is the health drop that invaders get. Now that's an issue.
Also, I still haven't encountered anyone being a dick. Every single person has gestured to me before attacking. It's probably bc I'm the invader 80% of the time and I gesture first but still.

Every time I've been invaded except once when I didn't even realize I was fighting another person until they died, the invader has engaged me while I had one or more mobs attacking me.

It is really the only way that they can do it.

I'd take a fight that lasts 20 seconds over someone going through 20+ blood vials and it becoming tedious or they run off after running out.
There needs to be a designated pvp arena where each players' health is full and they only get 5 blood vials each.

I would settle for them getting hit detection down.

No way. No other game I can think of does it that way. Why not just have a PVP portion of the game separate from the PVE section?

You want to farm echoes for days? Invade people in the Nightmare of Mensis and just sit by the respawning women. You'll never have to fight anyone.

But the entire point of their PVP is to have it act as a grief session. They want the invader to have a chance to screw with somebodies single player game.

That is the PVP system they like, if you don't like it you can always play offline.

Perhaps, but if they allowed the Beast/Hunters to attack the invader, then the invader could clear out portions of the players single player. I don't think that is what they want. At least co-op starts in the same area.

You could do this in earlier Souls games.
