Beat Mergo's Wet Nurse and back up once you've returned to the dream. Do it before using the umbilical cords. You'll only need them for the one ending.

I cheesed him with poison knives and molotovs the last couple of times I played. His AI is horrible and he does nothing but spam the same two attacks.

Well I finally beat it. I accepted his request and took the easy ending. Then I went back and defeated him for the 2nd ending. All I need to do is go back and do the 3rd. How hard is moon presence?
This game is fricking amazing. The lore is awesome and makes me want to read up on it more. I had a hard time not jumping back into ng+

i was in the middle of my second play through and had to stop because of school, but I found the bosses much more difficult the second time through, and I had leveled up pretty high (in the 90s I think). Granted I only made it to the witches, I believe, but for example, I beat the cleric beast on my first try on my first play through and had played maybe 2 hours of previous souls games, but it took me 10 or so times on my second run. Their attack patterns seemed to change and they took way less damage even using ludwig +9 and the axe at +9. Once classes settle down a bit, i'm going to pick it back up. Game was just so addicting, I know if I start back now I won't do anything else

That boss drove me crazy too. That's the only boss I co-oped.
I actually finished the game leveled at around 90 I think. I think cleric beast is the boss that killed me the most. It just took me forever to get that feel. Amydala is the only one I beat the first try, a few of them I got the 2nd time.

Buddy told me he died 20x on cleric beast. I told him he sucked and asked what weapon he was using. He says "weapon?"
He somehow got to cleric beast without ever picking up the weapons in dream refuge. He was trying to fight cleric beast with his fists

It took me about 20 times, I was new to these games. Now I'm working on the platinum

Kind of. I have all but the 3 trophies that require you to do chalice dungeons. I figure I might as well work on them over time and see if I get it. I know that defeating the queen is a bitch though.

The dungeons themselves aren't too bad, and the defiled dungeon just takes patience. It was worth it to fight Yharnam; she's one of the best bosses and should have been in the main game.

still convinced that, while not bad, the chalice dungeons were the worst part of hte game. gonna go back and finish up Defiled once i finish Witcher

Just watched a guy on twitch speed running. He was 50 seconds ahead of his best time until Gerhman. He made 1 wrong move and died Needless to say that was all it took to ruin the whole thing for him.

The Cleric Beast was my most difficult fight as well for the same reason. Then I got to the Great Pthumeru Ihyll Chalice Dungeon and the Pthumerian Descendant killed me so many times I thought I was going to go insane.

Getting to her is a bitch but the battle with her isn't too bad.

I just faced the descendent in the Central Pthumeru Dungeon which is only depth 2. Not sure if you face that boss again or not. I was OP for that level but he is fast and aggressive so I can see how it would be a bitch.
