Took down three bloodsuckers down at one time and got the gate open in upper cathedral.

Just keep going. You only have to kill about 5 enemies to get to it .

Almost killed it first try but died by a lazer and I couldn't dodge because of the pillar laying on the ground.

It was the most miserable experience I've ever had with these games, and I did sl1/no death runs on the others. It's just not made for it like Souls is.

I'm level 60 on my 3rd character. This game never gets old to me. I still haven't even tried all of the weapons. I'm doing a skill/arcane build at the moment.
