I had some fun with it, though I bought it on sale and after their big "Next" update a few months ago.

Procedurally generated is just a tool that can be used correctly, as in Minecraft, Spelunky, Dead Cells, Starbound, and others, but the player still needs a worthwhile goal to work towards. NMS didn't offer that on release.

Back on topic, I wonder if The Outer World's is at risk for being overshadowed by Cyberpunk 2077, depending on how closely they release. It seems like their tone and atmosphere is pretty different, but I could see an overlap between the audiences for both. Personally, I'm more interested in this.

Gameplay

Its like Mass Effect 2 and New Vegas spawned a baby....day 1 buy

I'm sure it's just the weapon they chose for this demo, but I'm hoping there is more than just energy weapons. I never use those in Fallout games.

Way to capitalize on Bethesda’s frickups, Obsidian! Maybe Bethesda will wake the hell up and actually start producing quality content now that they’re getting obsidians nuts dragged across their faces.
