I have never looked to be honest. I know I get 80 FPS on DayZ and about 60 on Wasteland since there is so much more going on. Not sure how much memory it eats up though.

Wasteland can spike me pretty high.

You have a 120hz monitor or oc'd a 60hz to 80hz?

She is right though, this new build is killing me when we have a house coming up in <30days and purchasing a new truck in the next 1-2weeks.

Your not even married man, it only gets worse. for real though she is probably right, she will always be right and you just deal with it.

Where this comes into play is really higher resolutions and benches, but none the less it is making the 7970 shine in benchs because of the larger bus. Other reasons to but amds cards aren't choking when large packets of data is pushed to them.

Is that why the 7870 catches up with the 660ti at higher resolutions and higher AA?

60hz but I haven't oc'd anything. I didn't know you could on the monitor actually.

Not sure why fraps tells me 80 sometimes on DayZ. I have seen it spike to 100 even. Thoughts?

Fraps doesn't count your monitor refreshes, it counts how many images your gpu is sending. Was that your question?

Yea and that makes sense. I feel dumb now.

ETA: Now this has me looking at 120Hz monitors. I have been wanting a 27" with a 2-5MS refresh rate.

Well you shouldn't feel dumb for not knowing that. That's one thing that causes screen tearing though FYI.
You a big FPS player? I know you like dayz. From what I gather those 120hz monitors are for serious FPS players but I could be wrong. He'll I just went from the 30's to upper 50's so I'm happy.

I play everything but mostly FPS games. I am not a graphics whore though so really it might not make that much of a difference to me.

I just have been wanting a 27" monitor for a while and have been looking. I usually shop around for a while before buying and it's not like my current monitor isn't getting the job done. It's a 23.6 with 5ms but I have read the difference in 60Hz to about 100Hz is great but you can't really tell the difference from 100 to 120 and beyond.

Ah fraps, I use precision x or afterburner.

Yes you can OC monitors. Some monitors can take more volts, those monitors require cost because they come with good pcbs.

I typically find my ceiling with a monitr OC then take the median from factory and OC ceiling. On a decent pcb you can get 75-80hz out of a 60hz monitor. I usually OC to 70hz.

I have had an LG OC to 90-95 buy the exact same model of LG not even push 65 for me. All depends on how good the pcb is and if can take the volts.

Stout before you buy, I have a catleap I will e selling in 1 month.

I'm buying a regular led Asus for our "living room/dining room" PC just cause it is wrapped in silver aluminum.

I can give you a deal on a Korean IPS catleap.

I have Precision X but never use it.

You guys forget that I just play games with my rig. I am not all that into overclocking and benchmarking. I have equipment that will OC nicely but just never have fooled with any of it or have played any game that makes me feel like I need to. My MOBO and CPU can reach 5 from what I have read but I haven't seen a need to push it like that.

If I ever play Crysis 3 then I may try and push it to see what I can get out of it.

Is your 26 inch cat leap 1440? You know I'm in the market for one.

Precision x is the first thing I open when starting my computer. I like monitoring the my temps and all.

You should just put a simple +50 offset on core when playing games. It will make your turbo boost higher and greatly improve game play.

The catleap is 27 1440 IPS.

Was the first Korean I ever purchased. It comes with a terrible stand and looks cheesy. As for the picture, flawless detail.

Eta: I bought it off eBay around 1yr ago. I'm thinking 250 for it. Payed 400 then.

I will find a link and or take pictures this weekend. Plan on selling it when we move in the new house.

I will try it.

Would I also need to do anything on my 8350? I know it sounds dumb but I have never touched any OC'ing stuff and need to be walked through it like I'm an 8 year old child.
