You can't pair a 7950 with a 7970.. You can do something like 7990 with a 7970 but that is it.
AH thanks I thought it was 79XX that you could pair. It will be the cheaper option anyway and still overkill.

How do you like that noctua fan?
Also double check me but you may be able to crossfire a 7950 with that power color 7870 myst because of the chip.

I've been reading great things about their fans. Air cooling is my new interest.

I don't plan on getting into water cooling since it's such a time investment, I build to play and learned that I am not willing to invest the time required just to benchmark better. I have OC'd my ram, cpu, and video card slightly just to see what it was about.

I know me. I'll being into water cooling after I have maxed my air cooling and learned all I can learn. A lot of this for me is because I like learning and experimenting with it.

Nothing wrong with that, I thought about trying it, but not willing to make the commitment. If I were younger and had the disposable income I have now then I would have been blue 2.0.

Me and the wife haven't had kids yet so now is the time for me

Water cool only after doing tons of research and asking lots of questions.
Water cooled PCs are just so much more quite. No loud GPU/CPU fans. You can play games without all that ambient noise.
ETA:
At less maybe buy you a closed loop system, you can always put it in your back up rig. (everyone needs back up rigs)

I have almost no noise in my current setup and didn't do too bad in the epeen contest.

Gotcha, always had a ton of noise because I OC everything.
OC'ed a 5800K to 4.1 inside and 12x8x4 container. lol

The fan noise doesn't really bother me, I just like researching and applying.

OC'd my ram to max (not a noise maker)
OC'd my CPU to what I could without too much time involved, I hear the CPU fan kick on sometimes but it's quiet.
OC'd my GPU just a bit and could do much more, but didn't want to create a heat problem and didn't want to fry it with my inexperience.

I've decided I will do a build log. Im totally redoing my lay out and not using much tubing. Going with Crystal Links from Bitspower.
My backplates should come in sometime before the end of the week. I should have the Titans on water come Sunday night.
Decided to name the build "INK" and you will see why. I have soo much spare water cooling parts from my curent loop and overordered parts for this loop that I will put my 7950 in my backup rig under water in the Corsair 650D I currently have.
Sooo just need to buy a GPU block for the 7950 and will be set. Excited to flash the 7950 with the MSI lightning BIOS and really push it.

I didn't understand half of that but I look forward to following it

Sorry sir but thats false...
You CAN run a 7950 with a 7970, but the 7970 will be downclocked to the 7950

I gave my backup good rig to my nephew so I don't have that same option, I don't regret it as he is loving it and I am happy, but I do miss having one.

Not that I don't want 2 rigs, but what do you use a backup for?

A back up, and I often run two or three instances of games.
