oh dont get me wrong, I am still heavily considering the SC 670, but if someone can put me on a 7970 for a minimal investment then I would probably get it. What would you pay for one of those sc 4gb 670s now?

I would go 7970 3GB TBH if your budget was <350. That is one reason I purchased a 7950 for the back up rig, because the price/performance ratio.

speaking of sleeving I hear its a huge PITA. Is it wrong to just use the individually sleeved cable extensions?

I purchased those but didn't like the fact that from the PSU was different. It also give me more cable to shove away.

It may be a year before I get mine done at this rate

99% of my problem is that I'm doing shrinkless. I tried with shrink but I couldn't get it to fit the connectors. This is tougher to get it to stay on the cable but it fits and looks better when it does.

No, just because it has never really ran hot. The new batches come soldered to the die. No more termal paste anymore, they went back to the old ways. I don't think I have one from a soldered batch, but I do feel like I got the "good" thermal paste batch. Only the first few batches used the shttty TIM.

Mine doesn't seem to run overly hot either. I run it constantly at 4.6 ghz and a tad over 1.3v. I know I could probably run it with a little less voltage but for daily use 4.6 is fine and my temps at idle tend to be around 29-31c.

I've seen people hit 5.0 with only like 1.3v on a delidded 3570k. That's crazy
