Yea, I am not trying to shite on it.
That is what BF is. Fun to just shoot people.
But I am a "sweat" I guess, games can't hold my attention if I can't get competitive with it.

I will only play ranked playlist filters in COD as well. I can't stand all the gimmicks in standard COD lobbies. And I am not trying to argue COD is better, Vanguard looks like arse to me.

Rush to me has always been a better game mode

Actually holding positions and advancing on them as a team

Actually changing all settings to medium and staying at 1440p appears to run pretty good. What fov is everyone using? I went up to 15 from 9.

I pulled the FPS counter in the overlay and it shows CPU in red with around 30-35 but GPU was green with 60-75... what does it mean with FPS on the CPU? Back on the main menu GPU was around 100-120 IIRC and CPU was yellow in the 40s.

That's at 1440p, 144Hz, medium settings. Is this basically killing my i5-9600K?

I think I’d like it better if instead of mash in L1 and changing weapon cust…you’d instead get the option to use your utilities. Seems like it would be easier to use your ammo/heal/grapple, etc. Just customize the gun in the menu like it’s always been.

Correct. My biggest complaint is just the layout.

It is weird. I’d get used to it but I think implementation of specialist is the biggest flaw. But you know...battle passes and specials and skins make money.

Drift0r is saying the battlefield communities:

Reddit
Twitter
TikTok
YouTube

Are all shitting in this game. I haven’t researched myself, but his comments really go against UH comments from earlier.

Not really, I posted PCGamer's review. The first few days were fantastic, think people just got bored with one map and mode.

It can never be received as bad as CoD Vanguard.

I’d be willing to accept that if drift0r didn’t go into mass amounts of detail with other issues and complaints. Especially ones coming from the above sources.

I don't know who that is. And I certainly don't care to hear about beta bugs.

the dude was running on a RTX 3090 and barely getting 120. others are getting 60-80 on a 30 series card.

non-optimized
squad balancing
lack of medics/lack of ammo boxes because people prefer grappling
can't revive because you pick up peoples items
every operator looks the same
more difficult to spot enemies
gun mechanics are too simplified (very "COD-like")
hitboxes aren't legacy hitboxes

the basic point is that this isn't your Dad's Battlefield. they're catering to new players from fortnite/apex/wz/R6. just like CoD did with MW2019.

here's some of the memes so far.

Oh just optimization? Lmao then I care even less. Battlefield is always very well optimized no worries there.

Man, some people really don't understand betas. This is why I stick to professionals and not reddit and youtubers.

I'm glad they weren't in the tech test, that shite was 720p 30fps locked and had double the bugs. Luckily they only invite people that know what a tech test is. Betas, majority don't understand what it is much less development. They think "oh man this game has bugs" and it's like, yeah the point of betas is to find them so they get them fixed in the huge day 1 patches we download for all games. They'd probably be shocked when you told them the beta build is 2 months old, or that any beta they've ever played is a month or two old build.

Half are complaining about cosmetics for gods sake. They're mad only 4 of the 10 operators were avail in the beta and no skins? Who the frick thinks that's a logical thing to take the time to include in a 3 day 1 map 1 mode little beta?

You really learn the difference when you test a lot of games, especially closed tests and very early smaller tech tests, alphas, etc.

i mean... when was the last Battlefield game release that didn't have bugs? a lot of the games nowadays release with bugs, but alot of the cries are apparently coming from the battlefield community. not your casuals like most people here, including myself.

All games release with bugs, that will never not be a thing and a large part of the huge day 1 patches we download. Why? Because bug fixes and final optimization is the last thing in development. So they just sound like whiny babies that don't really know anything to me.

They will basically make a huge checklist with the bugs listed from beta and rank them by severity/urgency and then start at the top and go. The major crunch hours you hear about up until release at the end working on bug after bug after bug. And hopefully come launch day, you are left with just a few minor bugs.

Battlefield optimization is very very good, typically one of the best for the level of graphics. BFV a 3090 gets 170FPS, and 127FPS at 4K Ultra. They all stay around the same as same engine similar to CoD so I have zero worries about framerates or frame times.
