Nintendo Switch Wireless Headphone Solution

Nintendo finally unlocked audio thru USB with update 4.0.0 as most probably know.
tVerge - Nintendo quietly added wireless USB headphone support in the last Switch update
Well with that update you still need a universal USB adapter which acts like a soundcard/dac to universally pair with any BT headset.
This is the solution I found worked for me. With the Creative BT-W2 USB Transceiver, you can pair any BT headset with the Switch. Here is the gear for my setup. Really looking forward to testing this setup on my flights during the holidays. The only issue is the length of the adapter. I'm using a USB-C to USB adapter which came with my Pixel 2. This adapter is a little long, so picking up a shorter one during the week. It is a compromise to be wireless, so wired might be better in this case. You can also use the adapter on the dock to have a wireless BT headset while gaming on TV.

That's pretty cool that they make gameboys with wireless headphones these days

Nice work around. If I played any switch games online I would do this.

Question coyote... Will that work if you plug up the USB to the USB on the dock? And also, if I had a usb-c hub would I be able to charge and use the headphones?
At least Nintendo is listening to people the generation.... I feel like I'm in bizarro world

Yes. It works in any USB port. On the dock I use the ethernet adapter out of the back USB 3.0 port. So to keep everything clean and coming out of 1 port I tested a USB hub. Both the wired ethernet and BT USB adapters work with a the USB hub plugged into a single port.

Yes. I just tested it for you this morning. Working fine.

Also you can now use up to 4 GameCube controllers with the Switch.
I will post pictures of my setup later. Tested this last night.

One thing I would consider is that while the Creative BT-W2 USB Transceiver does support Qualcomm aptX Low Latency (aptX-LL), Qualcomm shows that your headset does not. Qualcomm® aptX™ is where you can see the list of supported headsets.
You may notice some latency with your headset, or you might not, as some headsets are worse with latency with others. With even half a second (500 ms) latency, watching movies becomes unbearable, as the lips to not match the voices. With less than 40 ms lag, aptX-LL has less latency than possible for humans to perceive, which is very important for speedrunners, although many speedrunners would still want even less lag, which explains why they have monitors with 170 Hz refresh rates instead of 60 Hz, to reduce lag from about 17 ms to only about 6 ms.
The Plantronics BackBeat Pro and Pro+ are an excellent consideration as they allow for both wireless bluetooth as well as the standard wired 3.5 mm connector, but what really sets the BackBeat Pro apart, which the BackBeat Pro 2 lost in the new version was the third pole on the 3.5 mm connector that allows a microphone in addition to the stereo headphone, which is useful for games like Splatoon 2 that use this connector on cell phones for chat, in wired mode. This is the only aptX-LL headset I could find that has this feature.

Correct. It supports aptX but not aptX-LL.
Saying that, there is no noticeable lag. Just wish Bluetooth audio quality was better.
