What does "play better" have to do with it not being fun? I can control it just fiine, but none of it feels good. It's the same issue people, including myself, have with Red Dead 2. Best game content in a long while, but none of it feels good to play.
With Origins, Ubisoft reinvinted one of the biggest gripes people had about that series, it was such a pain in the arse to play.
It's so smooth and intuitive now (and finally and actual stealth game). I've tried the Witcher series on multiple occasions, and if it controlled half as well as the new AC games do, I'd still be playing it now.

Hope it's a legit AC game, unlike Odyssey.

The missions get old. The assassinations get old. The moves are boring.

That's not in reference to content. Controlling Geralt is like dragging a paraplegic drunk ox through a mud hole.
This is some retard shite. Witcher 3 controls were smooth as butter though I can’t speak for the first two.
Seriously did we play the same game?

I thought Witcher 3 played kind of clunky. It is probably by design but it is clunky.

It felt so fast though
I definitely think the menus were clunky but I never had a problem maneuvering Geralt. Plus I really dig the fact you could control your speed by just easing the thumbstick.

That design philosophy is the fastest way to get me to hate a game (see Red Dead 2).

Great way to get a conversation going.
Take my hyperbole with a grain of salt. It isn't like controlling some old PSX games, but IMO it isn't great.
I won't inlcude the first Witcher, but I have given both 2 and 3 multiple tries and it just feels floaty and uncomfortable. That tutorial in 2 was probably made worse with how the game controls.
I played a bit of RDR2 a month ago, and I can see WHY they made it that way with a game like that. The feel and the narrative will be ruined if you were running around at break neck speeds, turning on a dime, like with the AC games. Or, at least I think it would be ruined. I have limited time to play games these days, so it has to be fun or I'm not going to bother. I hope to give RDR2 another go at some point, and I'd love to be able to dig into Witcher 3, a universally praised game, but if I can't enjoy the game part of it, there's no point.
To each is own, preference has a lot to do with it. But I can't get on board with some of those game designs. Tapping a button repeatedly to sprint is the most hateful mechanic ever designed in video game history.

Origins was the first AC game I have played since Black Flag, which I loved, and I could only get 15 or so hours in before I got bored.
It felt like it was the same stuff over and over again.
It was a very good looking game and controls were on point, I just wasn’t a huge fan of the content and story.

Every AC game I have ever played. It's just a boring game with great visuals.
