New to NBA 2K17 - What am I doing wrong?

I can hit a big man all alone right under the basket and they always try some horseshite fadeaway that hits maybe half the time.
Is there a slider setting or a different tactic I can try? I play as a PG in MyCareer and probably lose out on 7-9 assists per game because of this.

Unfortunately, no. It's kind of how the AI does things.

honestly. trying to play mycareer legitly is a lost cause. just play franchise mode if you arent gonna play online

This is why I only play MyGM on NBA2k. I really wish Madden's Franchise or CFM was as detailed and in depth as 2k's because I would never put it down.

You can sim but what's the fun in that? It's badass just try it and this year they added the coolest thing in my opinion you can start in the offseason and go from there.

Definitely agree with everyone else. Can't stand MyCareer anymore and would suggest switching over to MyGM if you don't want to play online.

The Player generator is terrible. And so is the simulator. I think KAT had a 3 year stretch of 22/18 in one of mine. He had an MVP season of like 25/19 being the most outrageous in that stretch.
What would make MYGM more fun is if they did what the Show does and transfer saves to the upcoming year's game. Would make it more worthwhile to me. And allow for shorter amount of games. 56 would be perfect, 2 against your conference and 1 game each against the other.

I play as PG for the Pacers and we got this big European rookie who always runs to the basket for easy passes and takes high percentage shots. I'm averaging close to 11 assists a game in the season I'm in. Also, Myles Turner is fairly accurate at mid-range shots for whatever reason.

Hold triangle to pass in career
Will make a man cut to basket & attempt dunk/layup
Also, use Justice spamming square to make him shoot after passing.
Or use D-Pad right if OJ activated

Pick and roll, alley oop if open or shoot yourself. All you need to do. If OJ is activated, up on d-pad and they will cut to basket and you throw an alley oop automatically.

I bought 2K just recently. Same thing. I've just started throwing lobs on pick and rolls for assists.
Pisses me off how awful my guy starts. He's a lottery pick but a 58 or whatever.
I do like the game though. Same ole 2K takes 3 weeks to load

Atleast you can play a game. I play an entire game fine until it gets down to 2 minutes. Then I suddenly disconnect from 2k..... every damn time :
Was a great game. And it progressively got worse with each patch.
I wish I could get my money back. Or atleast some VC/MyTeam points because I keep having to buy contracts everytime I disconnect

This game really is broken. Just took me 35 minutes to get into myplayer.

Try uninstalling and re-installing the game after uploading your profile to cloud or whatever
Should load exponentially faster after this. Have had to after each patch and this workaround does the trick
