Countless times I’ve held this game in my hand only to put it back on the shelf. Finally ran out of games I wanted to play so I ordered it on Amazon last Thursday. It shows up Sat afternoon and my PS4 has hardly gotten a break since. Even turned off the Super Bowl before half to play it. Best game I’ve played in years.

Just fought the rouge chick that stabbed the baby robot. Not that far along considering the hours I’ve played. Been doing tons of side quests and fishing.

Game would have been better as a linear action game. The open world stuff is not so great.

So I bought this a good while back, made it to the first "boss" I guess, died and the game started all the way back at the beginning. I did that twice and havent picked up the game again, is there a save point or something I am missing?

play on easy or normal until you reach the first save point (like an hour in) and then crank it up to hard.

Yup. There's no penalty or reward for playing specific difficulties, but you will breeze on Normal or lower, so Hard is the only way to go.
But do what you gotta to get to the first save point.
This game is hands down my favorite game of the decade. Beautiful story, excellent combat that never gets stale. Ugh. I wish I could play it again for the first time.

That part got me a few times as well and is a bit frustrating. Once you make it past that you don't have as many instances of having to replay whole sequences due to dying.

I downloaded it last summer and and started playing it before the download was complete. Beat the first boss which is a good 45 min in and it wouldn’t let me save after since I had started playing before it was done downloading and so I had to start over. Ended up shelving it. I’ll probably try again once I finish ff12 remaster I just started
