It's bad. Spike Lee turned a run-of-the-mill sports video game into a platform to cry about class warfare. To add insult to injury, he made all the villains white people.

This game is insanely hard. Like, I don't want to turn this fricking game back on it's so hard. I've got it on rookie and the Bucks are slaughtering me. Like, what is this shite?

It is a basketball "sim." I think you have to go into it with a reasonable knowledge of the sport of Basketball. Not knowing much about basketball aside from how you score, is certainly why I think I suck at it.
It's not like Live where I can win by 20+ on the default difficulty by doing little else than driving the lane with the point guard every single possession.
I feel like once I learn how to play the game, there's a lot of depth here, but the overpowered defense and nitpicky shot mechanics suck a lot of the fun away.

I made the same thread not that long ago. I don't have an issue with the idea, just that if my character is white make it fit the narrative if that's the direction you choose to go. Could have easily been fixed if the player was adopted or something. I would have loved that shite. But spike lee gonna spike lee. Game is great otherwise.

At first you don't need to focus on scoring. Just do the little things and get the upgrade points. I was a borderline all star at the break of my rookie season doing it that way.

I have a legends league if anyone is interested. It's 25/30 full. Some users are 12-15 games in. Others are around 5. Looking to replace a few teams with less than four games if anyone is interested. The sliders are really sim. An example would be a layup on the break with John Wall isn't going to go in every time over 3 defenders.

And download the app. So many free points to be had on a daily basis. I only play every few days but every time I log on I have 3-4k points to put toward my player because of the app. It's perfect for killing time in the bathroom at work.
It also helps if you create a 7'1" monster that can flex between the 4 and 5. I mimicked Karl-Anthony Townes when creating my guy. He's just now starting to shoot 15-20ft jumpers in his second year. He will be unstoppable soon.
