Microsoft and Sony have announced plans for a strategic partnership that will include technology and information sharing, as well as shared infrastuctures for some of their initiatives. While the announcement doesn't mention the Xbox or PlayStation brands specifically, it does suggest the partnership will focus on consumer entertainment platforms including gaming.

Specifically the agreement says that the two will jointly develop future cloud solutions within Microsoft Azure. It also says that Sony will use Microsoft Azure for its own game and content-streaming services, including a push to build better tools for content creators. The two are also committing to work together on semiconductors and artificial intelligence

Give me a break. You act like we don't want options for devs. I just want options as the consumer again.

Edt: You are suppose to be one of the rational ones here Sic.

Cloud gaming is stupid. It doesn’t work and the technology to do it efficiently is only available in select parts of japan.

Seems to me what Microsoft and Sony are going for is loan sharking.

Will Sony have cloud storage for their games? Its bad enough that you have to upload the entire game to the console even if you have the disc. I'm tired of having to delete games to make room for more. I don't even have that many.

You act like you don't. What dev is going to turn down that profit share? If it gets steam to get their act together, I'll deal with it.

Epic is having a game sale, but the dev's are getting full profit. Epic is just eating the loss.

I thought so too until Google invested a ton into Stradia and Microsoft and Sony responds with this.

I was wrong, cloud gaming is certainly the future.

Apple, Google, Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo

I was hoping it wouldn't be the future, but it is

If you don't see we don't have an option it's no use talking any other point with you.

Plus I became tired of listing the issues months ago.

But you still have the option to buy the game.

So stop crying about it.
