Anyway, I need to get to sleep. It’s a long trilogy. Don’t wear yourself out :p

Oh, general tip: don’t use fast travel when you can avoid it. Certain encounters and quests are not available until you progress beyond certain points, so if you start fast traveling, you’ll miss shite.

Also another question are all companions usefull? Using KOTOR again once you got the Jedi’s you just used them all and half if not more of the skills in KOTOR 1 were uesless

The game breaks down into combat, biotic, and tech skills. Each have strengths and weaknesses against types of enemies. Each companion has different combinations of each. Just play around. Unless you are playing on Insanity, min maxing isn’t necessary. And unless you are playing on at least Hardcore, it probably won’t matter at all.

The mechanics of this game are a bit funky to get. I’m getting arse blasted on hardcore. It’s a dice role check system? It doesn’t play like one but I can’t help suspect there’s one underneath

No dice rolls. Armor, shields, and barriers are all different, and require different approaches to strip them. If you want to go in blind-blind, I would probably switch the difficulty to normal. You’ll need to do a bit of reading on the combat system to play Hardcore or better without wanting to murder someone.

Trust me when i say this - the story in ME1 is great, but the gameplay (even with the re-master tweaks) doesn't hold up nearly as well as 2 and 3. The graphics in 2 and 3 are noticeably better as well

I bought it in May and was so excited to re-experience everything, and am almost done with my 3rd playthrough it is definitely my favorite game series

Mass Effect 1, it matters a lot less who you use because all the companions are very strong and varied abilities for any situation. You can pick your 2 favorite or the 2 that fill in the hole in Sheps weaknesses and roll.

Mass Effect 2 is a little bit trickier as combat is a lot faster and having "rock" to a missions "scissors" is more important. Hardcore and Insanity are much harder too because every single enemy comes with at least a shield or armor, so you can't just toss them around with biotics at first.

Unless you're determined to play on Hardcore or Insanity, I'd just play on normal for your first run. The story is great and you feel like a god if you run a biotic based character.

I’m LOVING it so far. The gameplay sucks though. It’s very akin to Last of Us but BioWare player choices style

It took me a while but I’m getting hardcore down and learning how each companion works and what they bring and who to use win. Seems that is the biggest part of the game

Also since fallen order was part of this thray I played a bit of it since I’m off today and it’s stunning on PS5 like a visual masterpiece. The combat kinda reminds me of Bloodbourne but you don’t have a gun to parry so it is a bit fricked

The exposition isn’t clear yet but they sound like some kind of being that destroys whole planets

If you've really been spoiler free from the ME series this entire time then you're about to have a f'ing blast with this.

Story in ME1 is amazing. Best in the series, imo. If you feel that the combat is lacking but enjoy the story, then stick with it. Combat was overhauled in ME2 and is still pretty great even for today's standards.
