New endings are out. I'm too lazy to play the last mission again so I just watched them.

They aren't bad. I don't feel as if they changed anything dramatically, but they did flesh a lot of the vagueness out.

After seeing the extended cut, I do feel like the awkward "stargazer" scene at the end is out of place.

They are all much better than the original endings but some plot holes still remain. Plus, I will never understand why "Destroy" is the renegade option, and supported by ultra paragon Anderson. It just makes no sense to me.

They did their best to fix some of the crap they screwed up.

Still hate them.

Without a doubt.

Also would have allowed for more gameplay and fighting of the actual damn enemies we were supposed to fight the entire game - the fricking reapers.

that website mentions hours of new cut scenes, from what I saw there are 20 minute videos of the three new endings. The first 10 minutes are the same for each video and the last 2 minutes are basically the same...so they made us wait 3 months for roughly 24 minutes of cut scenes?

Bioware has all but abandoned their core fanbase at this juncture. They are so out of sync with reality it would be comical, if it weren't so sad.

Watched them on yahoo and didn't re-install the game. After this much time I am meh on what they did, don't care either way at this point.

They have killed any chance at good DLC, imo.

Mass Effect 1 & 2 are some of my favorite games, probably ~top 5. I haven't, and won't, finish ME3. That is how much they fricked up.

I don't think I can ever replay them. I'm not that angry or sad just ambivalent.

I am sure I will replay the them, they are the best franchise out there up to the ME3 ending, imo. I will not buy a sequel or dlc at full price though.

Part of my refusal is aimed at EA.

Agreed. I was in the process of playing ME1 over again (got up to the last mission until I got distracted again). I honestly think the series is one of the best ever made if you exclude the last 15 minutes of ME3. The choices and sacrifices in ME3 made it a deep and truly fantastic game. Having to let Mordin and Legion die really sucked. I just wish such a tremendous series hadn't fallen flat on its face in the last 15 minutes.

I do admit that the new endings give much better closure and explain what happens after you make your choice. They still lack a real "difference" between the choices and don't really reflect all the prior choices in the game.

I still think they goofed by keeping the "stargazer" scene. Talking about how the tales of "the Shepard" were lost over the ages. That fit with the old ending where it looked like everything got blown up and we got sent back to the stone ages. It makes no sense in the new endings with the reapers helping repair everything. Feels very tacked on and like they almost forgot to to examine how it fit with the changes.

Yeah. The control ending is definitely pretty bad arse. Shepard went from being the most bad arse guy in the galaxy to being the most powerful "life" form in the galaxy.

i did control too and i agree, this is the way. the indoctrination theory and the gameplay to that point led me to believe that was a bad choice but dude, frick that. i want to have an all powerful army from hell.

what sucks is i don't really do too many video games outside of NCAA and the occasional shooter but i love games with good plot and i just recently found mass effect so this was the first one i played. i even did the nerdy thing and researched the first 2 forever to understand 3 and bam, first game i play and i get boned. i mean i really enjoyed this game up to that.

oh well, i'll definitely have forgiven them by mass effect 4.

The endings are now 1000x better, in my opinion.

Indoctrination theory is still the tits though, even though it was always a convoluted longshot.

I hope Bioware's flop ranks up there with New Coke in the annuls of history.
