Playing on PS5 in performance mode I havent had a single issue although I understand the pc port is currently busted. By now I have made it to Kobold the massive almost open world wide kind of hub planet you go to after the prologue and I will say that this game is absolutely jam packed with thing shite to do. Fast travel is nice because you dont get seomewhere find out you need the main story to get the item, etc. I really like it. Especially the dual saber stance which you do unlock very early along with the grapple.

I made the mistake of not collecting enough stims in Fallen Order and made life much more difficult on myself. Not letting that happen this time.

Thank god I’m about halfway through ME3 on my latest run, or I might be tempted to put it on hold

I really wanted to move to DA2 next…

I’m playing on the second hardest difficulty, and those stims were going quick. Luckily, I found the third one before I left Couresant.

I’m really enjoying it so far.

Yeah this game is very different than the first. You are somewhat thrown directly into the deep in off the start and actually makes you properly kill a boss to finish the prologue. Where was the 3rd stim there? I never found it. Oh well it had blocked off areas all over the place so we will be returning

This was me when HW Legacy was released

Fortunately, I’m out of town through the weekend, so I couldn’t even if I wanted to. Then when I get home, I’ll finish up my ME run. Hopefully we’ve gotten some patches by then.

Do I need to play Fallen Order first? I hope not.

Yeah I think I’ve enjoyed that, they’re not babying you through the first few hours.

The stim was near one of the meditation points in the undercity, there was a security droid guarding it. You’ll have a chance to get it again. Hopefully I can play a few hours this afternoon.

Need is a strong word. I doubt you need to, but I would probably at least read a nice long summary of the plot of the first. There are no “choices” in the first game, but I have to think you would enjoy it more if you understand what came before.

The game comes with a recap of its story on the main title screen. But as I said you are immediately put into the throws of combat so without any knowledge of how it works (while they do provide tutorials) it will likely not be smooth.

And as an addendum, the first game wasn’t terrible long. I did an extremely thorough run (though not fully 100% on collectibles), and my Steam play time is 32 hours, and that includes time sitting in menus, paused, etc. You could probably do a “focus on the plot” run in 15 hours or so.

Yeah, that sounds less than fun…

Then I would double up on saying go play at least some of the first one (assuming it can be had for cheap right now). Let some of the bugs get patched out, then jump in.

Eta: Just noticed Fallen Order is full price on Steam. Cheeky frickers. It was on sale for like $5 not long ago

I have EA Play. Fallen Order is included. I have it in m Library but never downloaded.

ETA: Crap. I never finished Hogwarts. I jumped back into Destiny 2 when Lightfall came out. Hmmm...

Then yeah, I would spend the weekend playing Fallen Order. Let a patch or two come out, then push into Survivor. I think your experience would be better for it, even if you don’t finish FO.

I may do that. I'll get it downloading for when I get home.

A few gameplay tips:

1. Poncho/light saber/etc collectibles don’t matter. Don’t worry about them. The collectibles that do matter should be obvious.
2. You gain terrain traversal powers as the main story advances. If it seems that you can’t traverse into an area, you likely can’t. Come back later.
3. Combat is difficult and vaguely Souls-like. This is not a hack and slash. You will be punished, heavily, for being aggressive.
4. The map sucks balls. However, it’s functional on your initial playthrough. Pay attention to the areas that are and are not filled in, as that will help with figuring out where to go. Backtracking for collectibles is when the map becomes nearly useless, so just try to avoid it.

I’m sure I’m missing some, but that’s off the top of my head.
