The 5850 is actually a pretty decent card.

Those 5xxx series is probably better than than the 6xxx series. The 5970 is one of the top AMD cards. Probably about equal, or just a little better than the 7870

Gonna keep this short since I doubt you'll take any of this advice. Also had a long shitty day.

Based on the build specs alone, especially if he built this from scratch (i.e., this wasn't the culmination of several upgrades), this guy is kind of stupid.

I had one of these briefly. 5850 will perform about on par with a 7770. You'll be able to run games, mostly at medium settings. You should be able to run starcraft 2 at high/ultra settings.

The frick is this? 3 sticks of 4GB? Does he think socket 1150 is triple channel despite the 4 DIMM slots with the clearly labeled channels?

Seagate barricuda 500 GB hard drive

Probably should find out what fricking year the Barracuda was manufactured.

Asus motherboard (don't know specific model- is this important?)

Find out the model. Not because it will affect what you should offer, but because I want to see if he is even more retarded than suspected.

Intel i5 4670R CPU

... Typo? Or did he really get a Crystal Well? I bet that Intel Iris Pro graphics 5200 die is being put to excellent use. Where did he even buy this fricking thing? They aren't available on the retail market. But since you said it was 3.2GHz, I don't know. The 4670R has a stock clock of 3.0 and a turbo of 3.7... Did he use that liquid cooler to get a whole 200MHz more out of the stock frequency?

Details? I want to see what 1337 liquid cooler he has on the monster 4670R.

Custom cooler master case with adjustable LEDs
System temperature diagnostics screen
5 fans

Pics? I want to guess his age based on how the case looks. It would be fun.

What brand Power Supply?

How much would you pay?

I would not buy it. Especially if that's seriously a fricking Crystal Well in a gaming machine. But it would be at least a "playable" awkward little fricker, so let's say $350-400. You don't need his crusty arse keyboard.

I've added snark to past build-help posts. I usually give the OP a couple of chances to be reasonable before that, so it's rare.

In this case, the vitriol is directed only at the person selling that machine, not the OP. I am definitely tired of seeing Craigslist rigs with an extra chromosome, though.

It's crazy what people think their machines are worth with 3 year old hardware and unoptimized components.

I swear I will not buy a single component without running it past Lsutoo or you stout.

I'm pretty sure I'd frick it away somehow.
