Been having a great time playing the Remaster of the first 3 games. Currently halfway through the 3rd one.
For fans of the game, with Andromeda I remember hearing it wasn't what people had hoped for. How much disappointment should I anticipate for? Through research i saw around 2 years ago, the teaser for ME5 was released and seemingly was meant to go back to the original series. Hopefully that'll be out before long, seems with the Remaster being released they may be doing something with it soon?
Anyways, just wanted to say what a fun series. Enjoyed the hell out of these games over the past week.

It’s not the worst thing I’ve ever played but it got so boring at a certain point that I never finished it and don’t plan on it
It’s not in the same galaxy as the masterpieces that are the first 3. Pun intended

Honestly, just stop playing #3 right now if you want to avoid disappointment. It’s been a decade and I’m still upset from my time with #3. But the first two games are some of the best I’ve ever played. Almost made me flunk out of college they were so good.
If there was a way to know when you have about 10-15 minutes left of game time in #3 without spoilers, then that would be the appropriate time to turn off the game.
Regarding andromeda, I don’t have the time to sink into a sci-fi thriller anymore. So when the reviews and other opinions came out about it being trash, I passed on it.

They released another (“good”) ending option that was free to download

I still remember being stunned as a kid at how wild that was
The fans essentially forced BioWare to make a new ending. I had never seen anything effective like that

I played Andromeda about a year after release. I thought it was a fine game. At was a exciting as the original trilogy. But I also feel the same way as ME1.
Such an awesome series.

I think Andromeda is a fun enough game in its own right. It really didn't deserve EA disowning the game and cancelling all plans for future DLC.
I think if you play Andromeda immediately after coming off of ME 1-3, it's going to feel worse than it actually is.
What I do like a lot about Andromeda is that it has the best gunplay in the series, the various class abilities are fun, and I enjoyed establishing colonies on the various planets and seeing how that changed the look of the different zones.
What I didn't like is how little world building there is in Andromeda compared to the original series. Andromeda takes place in an entirely different galaxy, yet there's only one new species and one major(?) settlement outside of the space station.

Ignore anyone telling you to avoid finishing 3. Subsequent additions to the ending and DLC have made the ending perfectly adequate, albeit still not great. But it doesn’t in any way ruin the ride that was the trilogy.
Pro tip: When Hacket tells you to dock the Normandy for repairs, don’t do that. It’s the start of the Citadel DLC, which is excellent, but is fairly long and best saved until the near end of the game.
As for Andromeda, it was a mess on release, but as someone who just played it… a year or two ago? It’s still a perfectly enjoyable game, even if it doesn’t come close to being as good as the original trilogy.
In short, just go have fun. I wish I could wipe my memory and replay the entire series for the first time

I enjoyed Andromeda. The story and characters arent as good as the original trilogy but the gunplay, action, and exploration is fun.

And in Andromeda’s defense, it was written with planned DLC and sequels in mind. And without going into detail, there are story reasons why it makes sense why there aren’t a flurry of new species sitting around to greet humans when they arrive.
Eta: And the romance scenes in Andromeda are significantly more graphic, you know, hypothetically were you into that sort of thing…

I banged Miranda in ME2. Felt like I should have smashed Jack though, or Tali.

I've gone after Liara in all three of my playthroughs, just because she's the only one you can follow through the entire trilogy (ok, that's not true. Her arc is also awesome). I currently have a ME1 playthrough on ice while playing other games, but the plan for this one is to let Ashley ninjamance me, off her on Virmire, and then queue up a Tali romance in 2/3. But we'll see when I get back to it
