Pretty much the conversation I have had with someone who bought one.
They play Witcher 3 and use it as a media server, and that is about it.

Its Sony's way of selling consoles directly. You have to be registered and also turn on mail notifications in your PSN settings.
Its apparently working but I find it pretty janky. I can register multiple times not knowing if its doing anything and it I am not sure if I register once and I am considered eligible going forward or I have to do it every time before the drop happens. No luck so far since I started using this method over the last few months.
