Humankind is on sale and has a lot of cool new features that upgrades on Civ6. I I played very little of it before and enjoyed but didn’t get anywhere in-depth. Civ 7 I have read took a few things off of Humankind and started allowing sailing up rivers.

Anyone play humankind and got thoughts?

I am very interested to see if anyone can make a compelling case to not get Civ 7.

I've had Humankind for a while. I only got 13 hours into it and it just sort of fizzled on me. Depending on how cheap it is, you could take a leap. It's not for sale on Steam, and there's no way I'd drop $49 on it. $14.99, maybe.

It’s on sale for $25 right now, but watching videos and the AI seems weak militarily, among other smaller issues.

I'm getting Civ 7 most likely but not at launch. 6 was a hot mess and took a while to iron out. Hell even now it can be wonky

I will probably get it on launch unless the reviews are very mixed, but it does seem like Civ is generally a franchise that is better to wait for the first dlc to buy the new version.

Also have Kingdom Come Deliverence 2 comin out in a similar window

I got civ 7 and the only world leaders it has right now is Nelson Mandela, the Indian mayor of London, and Stacy abrams. I was doing pretty good but then my civ died of climate change

I couldn't get into Humankind. I don't blame the game, but I just never got hooked. Might be because I just wasn't in the mood for this type of game, and it's the kind of game that takes a bit of playing to understand in detail.

I'm worried about the mechanics of Civ7. I'll be waiting to buy that one if I do. The changing leaders and stuff kind of sounds like changing governments during the eras, but also like you get pigeon holed into things and I'm curious how well they transfer from era to era.

There's an early review up here. It looks to get a pretty glowing review for the first two epochs? that the reviewer was allowed to talk about. Those prices though... $69 for the base game, $99 for Deluxe, $129 for Founder's... Woof.
