I got 35 hours in and stopped because life happened and I was nowhere close to being done.

It’s an extremely long game, with side quests and everything can probably be 150+ hours

Man I have no idea. The side quests are very well done, and all feel like they are a part of the main quest.

If you don't do any side quests and only play story missions- probably around 30-40 hours. You can literally put 200 hours into this game.

That's not including DLC, which are 20-30 hours each

I put in 120+ hours into the main game. I could have put in more but I rushed the ending because I was ready to finally beat the game.

You are somewhat near the end of the original campaign. There is a prompt at one point that tells you there is no return. That is when you’ll know you are the end of the base game.

DLC’s are both fantastic. I also urge doing side missions and Witcher contracts.

Dang I think I already passed that point because I started some shite following a glowing light and after I said yes I want to continue it told me like 5 missions failed. I guess I’m not patient enough to enjoy it

I was at the recruiting missions leading up to that when I stopped playing. Honestly, I felt the game got stale around the time I could easily beat everyone in Gwent. Looking forward to that in every town was my favorite part. I considered putting it to easy mode so I can speed through the combat for the great story, but never got around to doing that. Havent picked it back up in a year but havent brought myself to uninstalling it yet.

The only bad thing about Witcher is that it's so immersive and large that it's a very daunting task to "complete" it while not taking literal weeks and months out of your life to do it. At some points it feels like a task but the dialogue and story is so god damn good it's really hard to put down once you fully get into it.

Just for reference- the DLC Heart of Stone and Blood and Wine is a PERFECT release of a AAA game. You can go into those, put 20-30 hours, do everything you want and finish the game. Blood and Wine is a little larger than Heart of Stone but absolute MUSTS. I actually liked the DLC over the original game.

I definitely haven’t started any dlcs I don’t think but I’ve bought them. Is it better to start them after completing the main quests or does it matter?

Yea you’re past the point of no return with some side quests. There are plenty more you can still do like all the Witcher contracts even after getting to this point but if you didn’t do the King Radovid assassination quests then you won’t be able to complete the assassination in part 3. There is a ton to do in this game, I dumped about 100 hours into my first play through and then about 120 into my 2nd but I also did both DLCs. There is enough content that you can basically make it a brand new game plus you can use the New Game + feature so you can carry over all of your abilities you’ve unlocked which is pretty sweet. My 2nd play through was a blast knowing what spells/bombs/oils and abilities to use on enemies. I might do a third one at some point, not sure yet.

Just the main story I would say maybe 40-50 hours. I got the platinum in around 100 hours in one playthrough. If you play on an easier difficulty than death march then it'll probably be shorter.

You can start then whenever you want. The recommended level is 30 for the DLC. If you're there before the end of the main game then go for it.

My only gripe about this game is you can only have 2 playthroughs. After i finished the second and realized that was it i was fricking pissed.
