Homefront The Revolution

So I know this game got slammed by critics and gamers for being a buggy mess when it launched in 2016 but I thought I would give it a shot. The game and its DLC was on sale on the Xbox Store for $4.00 each so not much to lose. I played for quite a while last night and its really a mixed bag. The parts in the zones where you have to sneak around conducing guerrilla style missions and get the populace riled up is enjoyable. The red zones where its pretty much just open warfare are kinda meh. Not bad but not particularly exciting either. I read that the developers spent a lot of time cleaning the game up post releases and I have not run across any bugs yet. The whole thing reminds of a Far Cry game set in a war torn city with a little bit of that old PS2 era Freedom Fighters game mixed in.

I think the dumping of China as the protagonist to instead go with the Norks hurt it a bit too.
The bugginess at launch was of epic proportions though.

Yea the invasion story is nonsense. It does have a nice presentation through out though. I like the look of a bombed out Philly looking like a post civil war Aleppo.

I enjoyed it so much that I bought and played through all the DLC. It's basically Far Cry if the entire game took place in a city.

I remember playing the first one and having massive shootouts at Hooters

No more than apes taking over the Earth, regardless of pandemic. We letnsome things slide for the sake of moving the plot forward.
