Also the Knight and Hornet both have to be shoe ins for Smash 6 right?
Plus you have a lot of potential for the arenas in the first game nevertheless whatever they have up their sleeve for Silksong. The big three coming to mind from the original:

What the hell are you mad about? The game is here, and releasing in 2 weeks. I get that you were in the dark for awhile but comparing it to anything GRRM has done is crazy talk. You should be happy right now

I am happy, but the statement is just a unique lack of self awareness that it pissed me off. They said they were going to have a good explanation for it when really they had the worst. All it did was confirm to me that they took their time since both of them are now worth eight figures after creating the first and they knew they were going to get another $25 million a piece when Silksong eventually came out. I just think they’re clueless rather than malicious like fatso is.
But again, major props for the free DLC. They didn’t have to do that and could have made another few million dollars by charging a mere five bucks for it. I don’t think they’re greedy and were just taking their time with it.

I may finally get around to playing the first one here soon I guess, the rest of the year is pretty slow.
I have no doubt it's awesome but I got kinda over indie Metroidvanias since there are so damn many of them. Haven't played one in awhile so now may be the time.

Also just looked this up, but apparently Shigeru Miyamoto is only worth $40 million. The creator of Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong, Star Fox, Pikmin, Mario Kart, Mario Party, and executive producer of Pokemon, Metroid, Kid Icarus, F-Zero, the Wii Sports series, Nintendogs, several dozen other franchises, and not to mention designing several consoles that he’d be worth way more than that. Like I was thinking Miyamoto was making like $20 million+ a year and you could have added another zero to that $40 million. Just off of merchandising Miyamoto should be worth that.
So that being said, the developers of this game will be knocking on that door of net worth when this is released. Pretty unbelievable for an Indy game that you could get within shooting distance of the net worth of the Walt Disney of video gaming.
EDIT: Of games he personally produced, he’s sold over a billion games. How is that guy not a billionaire, especially when you add in games he executive produced, films/tv shows, and merchandising?

Was in the same boat. I didn’t love Hollow Knight and quit after about 2 hours. Just didn’t grab me.

Did you ever do Bloodstained?

Yoku's Island Express was an insanely fun time.

I’d say in the first world, I wasn’t seeing what the big deal was either. But then you get the dash and start to understand it better, and then the wall jump. Once you get those two the world really opens up and then you start to understand what they’re going for.

I'm sure I've said this in other threads, but I forced myself to play through Hollow Knight one evening until it clicked. Once I got through the first boss, I was in.

Oh boy.
Absolute Radiance is probably my proudest boss kill.
Harder than NES Castlevania Dracula or anything Fromsoft.

Hollow Knight doesn't make an unbelievable first impression or anything. I remember thinking this is it? It's a really solid and well made game but there has to be more to it than this.
And there is. It's now one of my favorite games of all time. The world, the bosses, the story, the enemies, everything about it is so well constructed. I don't remember when I started appreciating it, but I know the bosses and the amount of content in the game had a lot to do with it.

Holy shite. I somehow didn’t hear about this until now I’m in Miami visiting my GFs family. I was positive this game was going to become one of the great myths of history
So hyped it’s here!

I'm ashamed to say that this game has been sitting in my backlog ever since I got it for basically free a year or so ago. I played for 10 minutes after downloading and didn't understand the hype. Picked it back up this weekend and have still only played a couple of hours but I think getting the map and the compass were the key milestones I needed to hit in order to get sucked in lol. I guess now is as good of a time as any to play now that the sequel is coming out.

You definitely should.
People talk about souls likes a lot but it’s imo the best souls like ever made with some mixed in platforming and Metroidvania in it.
It can be disorienting at first and the map can be hard to figure out. But give it time and everything falls into place and feels second nature.
There’s lots and lots of secrets you can find for various upgrades and such that can make some of the very difficult bosses easier if you struggle

Yeah I've already gotten to that point where the game is more comfortable. It's a nice change of pace from what I've been doing lately.

It’s also extremely polished like to an almost baffling degree in today’s climate. Another refreshing change of pace
