re: Hardest boss you’ve ever fought in a video game?

I can't beat the Four Kings in Dark Souls. It's either glitched, or the fight is truly that hard. I can't get a single hit off no matter how many guides I follow to the letter.

The fight with Imlerith ticked me off because the game had a weird glitch when it transported us onto the boat; I was frozen next to a mast receiving damage for thirty seconds before it unfroze.

I like the idea of Smaug and Ornstein (spelling) but the columns being placed in that level really made it more of a patience thing. Other bosses gave me much more trouble.
I think one of the mega man final bosses gave me more trouble just because of game overs. I think though I might be equating the punishment of a game over than the actual boss.

I never beat him as a kid. Thought he was the most ridiculous boss ever created.
Then I did a playthrough in college and murdered him like the third try. Once you got his move set down he wasn’t too bad. You also needed to be pretty high level too. 10-year-old me would have never have figured it out though.

That’s what I was mentioning in my OP that I forgot to put in. Her master ninja version is just unreal. Still tough without the mode though.

Ruby is desert underground. Emerald was in the ocean.

Ultima Weapon and Omega Weapon were found in the Omega ruins. They were jokes compared to Nemesis. Although you may have never fought him as he was the Monster Arena superboss.
The toughest FF10 boss was Penance though. He was not in the North American version of the game. Only International and Asia. The HD remaster did add him.
Edit: I don't think FF bosses should count in this debate. Grinding and knowledge makes most of them a joke. You can beat ruby weapon with a LV 7 Tifa if you know how to exploit the game.

Getting the platinum for FFX is probably the most miserable thing I've ever done. So much time grinding to finish out the stupid sphere grids.
i got all the way to Penance at the end for my last trophy and I said "you know what, frick this" and I just Zanmato'd his dumb arse. I have a save before that I made with the intention of going back and beating him legit at some point, but I still dont want to touch that game 3 years later.

Tell that to the Emerald weapon.
Isn't that the idea of any boss fight? Grinding to get the correct weapon and level and also learning the exploit of the boss?
