As I play longer, I’m beginning to get annoyed with load times.

Don’t ever die because you will physically die of old age waiting for this piece of shite to load you back in.

I’ve had two instances where I’ve tried to re-load, lost patience, quit, and lost progress as a direct result. One of which was due to a glitched side quest where I was essentially stuck because I couldn’t trigger a prompt. I want to like this game, but the coalition is doing their best to dissuade me.

Load times are fast on the Xbox one X.

Been getting a series of blown checkpoints and odd bugs in act 3.

Did they even test this fricking thing?

The skiff is largely unnecessary. All it does is chain together several side quests and the main plot with some mindless exploration.

It wasn’t annoying enough to bother me, but it didn’t add anything. They could have easily cut it out and saved us a few skiff rides.

I like the plot well enough and it’s a pretty game. Making the single player have online components was a stupid move though. I think most of my bugs and annoyance have been caused by that.

Got it on steam last night. After the annoying boot camp, played a few games of arcade. Fun, but we played the same map every game

Got out of the big empty ice area only to be dumped into a big empty red dirt area

I finished the campaign and have mixed feelings about it. Game is buggy and when you hit ACT 4, a decision gets made on which person you save which will be interesting to see come Gears of War 6.

baws, is 5 better than 4? I'm playing through 4 right now and it's god awful. if 5 is better, I'll just read 4's wikipedia to catch up and play 5 instead.

this is exactly like Halo lol, new dev takes over a series and has no clue what made it good originally. everything about 4 just feels second rate. gameplay is not iterative at all, environments are bland and uninspired, enemies suck, script sucks, etc etc. they're trying to create this merry band of happy go lucky soldiers, but not one of them has a tenth of the charm of Cole Train or Baird, and the banter that the previous games excelled at just comes off as cringeworthy with this group

Holy shite Gears 5 is like a different game. night and day. beautiful, performs well, better writing, better gunplay. still the cheesy Marvel-esque one liners, but dear god its 100x better. 4 felt like an old arse 360 game, what a pos. the story was terrible too, glad i read the wikipedia instead of wasting my time playing
