Gaming Monitor Recommendations

Okay, some of you may remember that I asked for PC recs a while back. I hesitated because I didn't want to drop that kind of money at the time. Well, Tuesday my PC just straight up died. So, $4800 later and my new PC will be here tomorrow.
It's running a 14900k, 32Gb DDR5 6000mhz RAM, & a 4090.
At this point I feel like I may as well upgrade my monitor as I was currently using two 1920x1080's. One was a 27" I used for YouTube or work apps. Then I gamed on an ASUS 24/27" (can't remember and don't feel like checking right now,
) 144mhz monitor.
I've done a little homework, but there's a lot to take in and there are plenty of differing opinions. So, naturally I'm looking for you guys' expertise.
Should I go straight 4k, or is 1440 the sweet spot? OLED worth it? 4k vs OLED...pricey to get both, but I think there are 1440 monitors that are OLED? Then there's curved...I thought that fad had died out years ago, lol. I've read that it helps immersion, but that your viewing angle is pretty set, otherwise there are issues.
I'm open to running dual monitors, even if I just buy one new monitor to game on and use one of my current to as my second for YT, work, reading, etc. One plus I did consider with a curved are the sizes, I guess I could run one and essentially have two monitors in function? But I'm also curious about some of the behemoths I've seen and games working on such resolutions.
I can give a full breakdown of my PC specs if needed. Essentially, I'm looking at upgrading my visuals and taking advantage of my 4090. If I can go with a single monitor instead of using two that would be nice. My price range is pretty flexible, again I just dropped that much money on the PC I want to fully utilize it.
I game a lot, watch YouTube & movies, and read books/work on documents with my PC. Also some light photo-editing. I have a pretty standard desk...although I may inquire about a good gaming desk later on...so, I'd say I sit back about 1 1/2 - 2 1/2ft from my monitor. Maybe 3+ if I'm reclined watching a movie or something.

These days some of everything. FPS & RPG mostly, but again, some of everything.

I think 1440p is still the sweet spot imo as you can max out all settings and still get 100+ fps. You are still getting a significant resolution bump over 1080p. Add HDR and ultrawide to the mix and it's amazing. Maybe in a couple more gpu genrations I'll look at going to 4K.
I have the Alienware AW3423DW and love it. I'm never going back to regular LED monitors.
I don't even really notice the slight curve on it. Though I don't think I'd like the sharper curve on something like the Samsung G9. Also I wouldn't go for something that wide either as alot of games don't support that aspect ratio natively.
I use my monitor for gaming, work and watching alot of youtube/twitch etc. Used to run a dual monitor setup but a single ultrawide is much more immersive experience for gaming.

Yeah, I have been looking at that one. Also looking at this ASUS ROG Swift 41.5" 4k OLED.

At that price you’re better off getting a C2 or C3 42”

There's also this Samsung 34" OLED G8
175hz and a 0.03ms response time for $800 right now on Amazon.
How important, or how much of a difference does having a G-Sync compatible monitor make? Since I'm running a 4090?

Apparently, you will need a monitor with a fast refesh rate as well.
160 I think is pretty standard now. Will cost more $$ too.

Sure but what framerate will you get at 4K? You'd have to look at benchmarks for the games you play. Also max settings, usually doesn't include ray tracing. If you turn on ray tracing then that lowers your fps that much more. Each year as games get more advanced, you'll need an even more powerful card to maintain that same fps.
I'm going to buy a 4080 Super now that they've been released. I expect that to last me 4-6 years @ 1440p.

So, right now I'm hovering between the Samsung G8 and Alienware DW3424DW. The Samsung is $802 at Amazon and I can pick up the Alienware for &899 at Best Buy. Thoughts?
Other recommendations or considerations I haven't taken into account?
ETA: Also considering the Alienware 32" 4k OLED. 240hz refresh rate, G-Sync, & it's $1199. So not a HUGE price increase, just wondering if it's worth it to go up from 1440 to 4k. Only feature I'm certain on is getting an OLED...although curved is also working on me.

Do not get anything that isn’t a ultrawide. Once you go UW you will never want to go back to a 16:9.
Speaking as someone who owns a 4090. I play at 3840x1600, which isn’t quite full 4k. I can get playable frame rates in cyberpunk with max settings and path tracing, but I have to use frame gen and dlss.
If you go oled just do research into the potential burn in issue and make sure you know how to mitigate it. Also you should be aware of the text fringing issue that oleds have.
Oled is 100% the best way to go if you primarily play games and consume content, but if you plan on using it for a lot of reading/productive work you may want to reconsider oled for something like I have with my AW3821DW
I recommend trying to go above 34” if you can. 38”-45” is probably the sweet spot for ultrawide size.

Guys the PC arrived so now I'm getting antsy about a monitor, but don't want to rush the decision. Any more advice? Looks like I'm considering the Alienware 34" OLED, Samsung G8 34" OLED, and the ASUS 41.5" 4k OLED right now, but am definitely open to other recommendations or advice.

I made the jump up to 4k144 a few years back and I'm fully on the 4k train.

If you got the coin, maybe get this.
Also, I have heard bad things about Samsung quality control... lots of reddit stories of issues with Samsung panels.

I’m giving it a few more years (for GPUs to catch up) before I do another blow out to 5k/2k OLED. My 34” 3440/1440 will more than hold me over until then

That monitor is "Gsync compatible". It is not "Gsync ultimate" like AW3423DW. Gsync compatible means it use software/driver for vrr (variable refresh rate). This is the same as Freesynnc that AMD cards use.
Gsync ultimate uses hardware for vrr (both the nvidia card and monitor have dedicated chip).
Whether it's worth it or not is up for debate. Though I've seen people report problems with Freesync if fps drops too low.

Is it true that you can only hit 100hz when running 10bit on the DWF? Seems like a bit of downside.

I also run Samsung Odyssey monitors. Pretty good but I need an OLED
