Seems like they definitely made a good decision by pushing it back.
I'm getting a good feeling about how this'll turn out.

343 was ready to push out an unfinished game and you feel good about them? They'll frick this up, don't worry.

frick 343, full of liberal women with armpit hair. Totally disgusting group of losers.

They had enough sense to delay it for what'll likely end up being 6 months to a year, so yeah

The thing that I am concerned about is that they have supposedly vastly improved the narrative by bringing in Stanten to help finish the campaign. And while I appreciate that they want to improve the campaign and I really like the Joseph Stanten books, it seems like narratives are something that need to be developed in the beginning so that the gameplay can be built around it. I feel like changes like this are what leads to playing a game where you repeat the same mechanics over and over again to advance the story, example, in Halo 4 you constantly did these repeating secure these three location tasks while each location has separate enemy swarms. There was nothing really unique in it and while Halo 4 actually had a pretty good narrative in it, I really dont think that the gameplay was designed well around it. IDK, its things like that which get under my skin in Halo. Love the franchise and all the books, but the games seem to have a lot of filler for usually only being a 8-10 hour campaign.

I’m all for pushing a game back because it’s not finished. But it’s kind of a joke at this point. Halo feels like a forgotten franchise. I hope they come out with a great game with fun multiplayer. Just feels like it won’t be enough. I personally think they going going to be cute and make a different BR experience that will fall flat. I’m a massive halo fan but 343 has made me lose faith.

Halo could be an incredible BR game, but 1 - they denied it back before the delay and 2 - 343 would 100% frick it up

This is a very true statement.
Halo (Bungie) had everything going right by the time they hit Halo 2 and really brought it home with Halo 3.
ODST is an underrated game as well.
343 really jacked items up screwing with MP and neglecting the story.
Microsoft really missed a prime moment to take it to the big screen. Movie adaptions of video games are obviously hit or miss, but the game popularity was there and it was in the right genre with sci-fi.
Honestly a Halo movie with the BSG (remake) gritty filmography would have been gold.

The regular Halo multiplayer needs to be front and center but I'd like a BR mode released as well even if its after the game release once the regular multiplayer is done and polished.

I personally would love regular multiplayer to be front and center. But the way things are now I really think BR needs to get a ton of love or focus. Not even saying that selfishly. I’d prefer 2v2 or 4v4. But BR is how you bring plsyers (especially new players) to the franchise.

343 needs to work on the campaign. The multiplayer is legit. Halo 5 has fantastic multi-player, 6 years later it's still updated and a blast to play.
One thing I like about the Bungie campaigns is that they are memorable and re-playable. I've put in many, MANY hours just switching between multiplayer and campaign mode.
The campaigns under 343 were just average. Nothing memorable, and one playthrough is more than enough. Have no interest to replay. This is what they need to work on.

Regular multiplayer first, front and center, polished and complete. If that's done in time for release and they can also have a BR on release then do it, if not just wait and release a BR mode after the game is out.

I definitely get what you are saying. But my god would that look bad to delay game a year and still not have the game mode ready haha
I personally just think without a BR most players will move to new game in a short time. I like playing BR but I’m not some huge massive fan. Just from a business perspective I think they just have to have it in the game. All the micro transactions that come with it.
Halo multiplayer is literally the reason I game. Brought bought Xbox and halo the night it came out and I’ve been addicted ever since. But a large large percentage of gamers now don’t have that nostalgia mostly because halo never really been a big game in their lifetime. BR is the way to try to change that. Maybe I’m wrong and it being free game pass big enough to gain user adoption.

I agree 5 was fun. Honestly my biggest gripe with 5 is I thought the maps kind of sucked. Go back to the old days where everything didnt have to be symmetrical.
