I'm hard to please and it took a long time for a game to graphically and emotionally draw me in at the same time. I played game systems since the original Atari.

The first game to really blow my mind was FFX on PS2. After that, the next games to do it were Skyrim and Witcher 3.

To this day this is the only final fantasy I've ever played and I probably logged over 100 hours. I was blown away by the graphics, especially every time you'd summon one of those beastly monsters to fight with you.

Still never figured out blitz ball though

Anyone ever play this hologram game? I don't think I've ever seen anything else like it, but like Dragon's Lair, it was not actually fun to play.

First game I ever played was pit fall, so that kinda did..

So in order..

Then Mario 1 came out and it was awesome.

Then I discovered river city ransom.

Then I saw street fighter 2 in the arcade

Then mortal kombat 1

Then DOOM

Then resident evil 1

Then Grand Theft Auto 3

Then RDR 2

For someone who had pong set up for their tv, I gotta say this game blew me away. The music, the graphics, the adventure and level design was so cool the first time I played it.

It was probably Gauntlet (arcade). Just the scope of the game, 4 players, the size of the cabinet, etc.

All of the brightly covered 4 player co-op games would blow me away as a little kid in the mid 80s. My uncle and I would walk to the Fun Arcade on Vets in Metairie and I would love just walking around looking at the different games.

At Showbiz Pizza in Baton Rouge. That game sucked so hard.

I remember the first time I played this was at one of those demo consoles at Circuit City (shows how old the game is ). Whoever last played it was down by 11 points as the 76ers with two minutes and I came back to win it, but it just felt so pure of a comeback and not like "well it's a video game". I've been hooked on 2K Sports since after owning every NBA Live game.

Something about having the little bat joystick so you had to get the pitch location right and the timing right. I know other games had that, but having the joystick was a cool touch. Spent a lot of time at that game back when we had our GameWorks here in Texas, and had to find one to put in my game room

Surprised I haven’t seen it yet but Morrowind. The first time hiking to Ghostgate or walking through Vivec City are memories I won’t forget.

OoT. Kokiri Forest blew my 8 year old brain out of my head. Seeing Hyrule Field for the first time is still one of the most surreal and vivid memories I have of my childhood.

Oblivion.

Didn’t know a game could be so large in scope that you could walk around like you’re actually in a different world

came to post this.

ive played games since Pitfall and E.T. Lots of games have "blown my mind." like trying to explain Resident Evil to a friend, who wasnt familiar with 3D yet, how you were like "really" in a house.

but stepping out of that tunnel into the open world for the first time was truly something I hadnt experienced before. No prompt on where to go. could go north, south, east, or west, seemingly endlessly. really really cool moment.

Oblivion kindof felt like the moment when game design finally caught up with my imagination/expectations.

Bionic Commando was just cool as hell to play for me, but as far as mind-blowing, Legend of Zelda was probably it for me.

That swing mechanic blew my mind. I played through that game so many times.

Super Mario 64 comes to mind. I don’t think any game will ever top how amazing it was to see Mario jump from 2D to 3D that seamlessly

This.

Someone mentioned Metal Gear Solid. I was a Metal Gear fan and that game was so damn good.

There are many badass moments for me. Many have been mentioned. I'd echo Halo CE, and the scene in RDR when your floating down river in mexico on a raft, you hit the banks and the music starts..man that hit me

The first last of us had great moments that pulled you in too

But for me it's WoW...first time I took the gryphon from Elwynn Forrest to Stormwind and you fly in and music kicks in and the massive statues greet you..man that stays with you.
