I finally ran across this video that really puts most of my gripes into a much more understandable place... major spoilers for anyone that hasn't finished the game, but this video basically spells out what I was trying to say a few pages back... it's sad what could have been with XV

Just gonna bump this thread real quick. I beat the game today. Logged about 28 hours. Lvl 46 at the final boss. Really enjoyed it a lot! Looking forward to grinding and getting legendary weapons. Overall very happy.

damn, you beat it in about half the time i did.
i rarely go back after i beat a game so i tried to do a lot of the side quests and all before chapter 9 though.
also, logged a lot of hours fishing lol

Yeah I did a good bit of quests, and upgraded my weapons. I think I'll grind some more levels then try to do the rest of the Tombs, and search for the Legendary weapons.

I would have beaten mine about 4-5 hours quicker if I didn't grind for the perfect horn to get the Ultima Weapon before I left the big open world

Just picked up this game. Just met Cor at the first tomb...enjoying myself so far.

Got the Royal DLC and all of the episode DLC.
Game was incredible on the second play through. Even better than the first. If you played at launch and maybe didn’t enjoy it or have no backlog I highly recommend. I just spent 60 hours on my NG+ and my first play through was only 50 hours.
I plan to keep playing to finish a bunch of side shite now that I’ve finished. Something about this game just strikes me.

On a serious note:
I still did by the steam version with everything because it’s fricking final fantasy. I had spent $500 for that heaping pile of shite of the original game. Yes the DLC came with the UCE but I was just so spoiled by how shitty of a game I had spent that amount of money on.
They fricking wasted a great character in Ardyn. I don’t know if 3 hours of DLC can erase the injustice they gave him.
One day I will convince myself to play the steam version in hopes that I may find something much much much more enjoyable.

Ardyn is an incredible character. The writing overall in the game has been great, imo.
I know I’m in the minority here, but I would put this as a top 10 game for this gen on PS4. I will 100% play a third time at some point.
