Demo confirmed Feb 6 state of play dedicated to rebirth

Link is to a twitter post. IGN and many others are picking it up as well. For completing the demo players will get an in game Kupo-charm survival set, this is on top of leviathan being able to be attained at some point in the game if you have remake save data and Ramuh being able to be gotten at some point in the game with intermission save data.

If you can select two different parts then it makes we wonder if you can actually carry the progress over to release or not.

If it’s the same demo blitzed played and is in that video then no I don’t believe so. If you look at my post above though they’ve confirmed Feb 6 Rebjrths own state of play will be the day the demo drops and those that complete it will get a special item of some type. The go getters have already been to work and found that’s it’s on the PlayStation store just not visible yet.

As to why I don’t think progress will carry ove if it is that demo is you are only playing certain chunks and parts and sections it isn’t like FF16 where you played a full 2 hours at the beginning or remake where you played chapter 1. But again, we could be getting a different more streamlined demo. If you don’t mind seeing some of the basic stuff about the game you can watch the video. It goes over a bunch of the early Junon area I believe because there’s a ton of tutorials and you can see red X moves and what they do as well as other party memebers new moves when he goes into the menus. It looks AMAZING.

I stand corrected in save transferring. Which means we will likely get a different demo. Below is a quote from PlayStation game size a large Twitter and news/breaker who mines hidden things within the ps store not yet set to public. Same guy who also broke the demo was on the store and those who did it got a special item

quote:

In addition to the full game's file size, PlayStation Game Size also discovered a Final Fantasy VII Rebirth playable demo on the PlayStation database. While its size hasn't been revealed, it was possible to confirm that those who play the demo will get the Kupo Charm - Survival Set in-game item for the full release. Interestingly enough, the demo will also feature save transferring, suggesting that the demo will allow players to play from the very beginning of the game and transfer their progress to the final version. With a State of Play presentation focused on the game airing on February 6th, it's very likely the demo will be released on the same day

If you mean remake you have plenty of time unless you plan to play the demo the day it drops in 4 days. Remake isn’t a particularly long game by FF or JRPG standard.

Also in order to eventually get Leviathan and Ramuh along your journey in rebirth you will have to have save data from remake and intermission where you obtained them.

I’ll have to fire up my PS+ sub again but I was at the second reactor during my last time playing the game.

If you’re playing on ps+ they have intergrade so make sure you do the Yuffie dlc too. She’s a ton of fun to play with, it isn’t terribly long, has some fun mini games, is required to get Ramuh in rebirth, introduced deep ground into the remake trilogy which is a pretty obscure tangentially related FF7 group mostlt featured in dirge of Cerberus, and it also plays with the first version of the synergy mechanic between party members rebirth is massively building on

I definitely remember Yuffie from OG FFVII but looking forward to the rest of the stuff you mentioned since I never got into any of those extra releases.

I play at the easiest level possible since I am only in it for the story and seeing all of the areas again redone in 4K and it has been absolute blast. I just simply don't have that much time to pour into it like I did back in 1997.

Yeah that two part demo I posted at the bottom of the last page insiders got to play hands on in October looks so absolutely incredible just from a visual standpoint idk how they did it. The junon portion of it ends with the boss that attacks Priscilla and the dolphin mini game being reworked into part of the story in unreal engine 5 graphical fidelity. It’s extremely impressive and especially so considering this was an October build and they likely worked until at least Jan 1 if not longer on polishing before going gold to prep for release and moving to day one patch work.

Anyone wanting to watch the 45 minute state of play dedicated to rebirth on the 6th and play the demo when it drops just letting all know it will start at 630 ET so 530 for my LA baws. No need for a new thread for the demo will post back here after I run through it and encourage others to do the same I’m interested in what people will say. And yes for the doomers still amongst us or perhaps a few salty xbox owners reading along (hey at least y’all finally get remake 4 years later) the demo is 100% coming out on the 6th. It’s not within any doubt whatsoever.

Also a PSA for anyone who wants absolutely no spoilers whatsoever in any way they could be possible the entire trophy list for Rebirth is out there on the internet and it’s getting plastered everywhere.

Trailer for the demo

Todays the day boys and gals that we will first get to put our hands on Rebirth. Sony themselves made a demo trailer linked in a Twitter post above. Can’t wait. Going back and someone discovering it having save data carry over confirmed the demo will be the Nibelhein flashback but isn’t expected to be the whole thing and end with the materia eater boss fight we have seen cloud and Seph take on in many trailers. I am hoping we will get the same second part early players got to experience in October when I section of Junons open world and the whole team there. I think we will get both. If you watch the trailer it advertises getting to experience both in the demo.

I also wonder if the new dynamic difficulty will be an option for this? Idk why it wouldn’t be and I am looking forward to seeing if it can provide more challenging gameplay for those that want it. Anyway enjoy the demo everyone it’s likely to go live today 630 ET 530 ET. Post thoughts on it when you’re done.

My god this state of play is insane. This is going to be possibly the best game ever if everything they’re showing off isn’t vertical slice bullshite. It should be over in 5-10 minutes and the demo will drop.

ETA demo just announced as live. Todays demo is only the Nibelheim flashback the whole thing. Between now and release they’ll add the parts of Junon early demo players experienced. It’s up go download and have fun

I can only assume the demo is so massive because we are actually downloading both parts of it but the Junon part will be kicked off until they decide to release it. There’s no way the flashback alone is 48-52GB.

That was the best game showcase I’ve ever seen though. I’m very happy with it. Now they still have to deliver on it all in a satisfying fashion so I won’t and we shouldn’t crown their heads with laurels yet but man it looks good. I’m about an hour left downloading the demo. When I play it I will post my thoughts in this thread so just letting everyone know from here abouts any and all spoilers for the demo
