You are a billion dollar company, with thousands of employees. Since its release in 2013..you have made $2.5 million a day off of GTA 5 alone.

So, the games that launched the empire of Rockstar (GTA 3, Vice City & San Andreas)..nostalgic games to a lot of people, games that could be reintroduced to a new generation of people..these games, for the Definitive Edition are not even made by your own developers?

To handle this project, you hire a team of only 21 people to handle these 3 games. I think about 150-200 were required to work on the Mafia 2 game. But you used a team who has a history of making horrible ports. Just shitty ports. They used to be called War Drum Studios, which they abandoned to call themselves grove street games. It then takes them 2 years to make this pile of shite.

You then take legal action against modders who do your job for you with making the games play + look better. You actually need to buy the game to have it modded. You release this shitty definitive edition game for $60 without even testing its quality.

Now you are saying GTA4 is next up to be released in 2023? No word on GTA6? You sacrificed the legacy for a quick buck which is disappointing.

Probably the worst release of all time, worse than cyberpunk imo

THIS is how it should have looked. Made by 3 actual fans of the game.

Vice City with Fan Made Mods

GTA 3 with Fan Mods

They can't hear you over their enormous piles of money from GTA Online.

The day of its release, Rockstar shut its servers down for maintenance. Then after a day, PC users realized their games had disappeared. So after purchasing (for which is usually a AAA game at $60), it took some people over 48 hours to play a heavily broken game that should have been easily handled by today's system standards.

To then smoothe it over, they have re re-release the originals to users for free. 20 year old games that play better than what they promoted as the Definitive versions of these games.

Which are still broken.

Its on the same level if not worse.

Yep. I don't understand how a bunch of them don't already work for Rockstar, Bethesda, etc.

Just started replaying skyrim AE with a ton of mods. Modders are able to fill in or fix extremely simple things and make better assets than billion dollar companies.

Wouldn't it be smart to hire extra talented people who are passionate about the work they are doing? Probably for cheaper than what you already have?

Thats what Nintendo did when that guy modded the Gameboy, and that led to the Super FX chip which changed a lot of shite.

I want to say that Bethesda has hired quite a few people from their modding community.

I know they hired the story-designer for the Fallout London mod

Rockstar needs to do that for the graphics modder in the OP because this shite is terrible

Well you can't anymore, after years upon years..Rockstar went after the mods and threatened legal action against modders.

So the Definitive Edition could go up for sale. An edition that isn't as good as the originals. Minus 80+ minutes worth of soundtrack..cause they're too cheap for licensing.

After making 2.5 million a day since 2013. Theyre doing the same thing right now with GTA4, which comes out in 2 years.

I’ve always wondered why Rockstar has never shut down the Nopixel servers

We hate Bethesda right now since they went exclusive with MSFT.

This is vastly worse than the CP2077 launch. That was an original IP and, frankly, worked fine on targeted high end hardware. Not great, but fine.

This is reheated trash. Bad sad.

Between how they handled this, Dan Houser and Lazlow leaving, and how they seem to only really be catering to the GTA Online crowd anymore, my opinion of the company has totally changed.

IF GTA VI ever actually gets released, I'll be shocked if it isn't a piece of shite.

The fact that they let these shitty ports be released shows that most of their fans care about their games more than they do.

And GTA V...for the third console. But they're really going to expand the single player experience on GTA 5 this time. They promised and everything.

The last thing I've played from Bethesda was ESO. If the way that game has been handled is any indication, it wouldn't shock me to find out they go after quality talent when and where it turns up.

Why other big gaming companies don't do this boggles my mind.

frick does the whole game look like that? That looks like its on Vita not a current gen system.

Thats a no sale for me then. A large part of what made those games so great was the killer soundtracks.
