Yes.

In 3 you’re some skinny Cali frat guy who turns into a killing machine despite having zero prior experience. You’re killing scores of trained killers and wild animals. I don’t look for realism in these games.
Right. People had no problem with this, but make your protagonist a woman and "LEAVE MY REALISM ALONE". Playing as a woman works in Horizon, Tomb Raider, Metroid, Bayonetta, Beyond Good & Evil, but it's clearly an agenda here.
They whined about this with BFV with a woman and a black man, saying BF has always been about realism. Forget that most of the stuff they showed in that initial trailer was present back in WWII, BF is a series where you can eject from a jet, fire a rocket launcher at a trailing jet, and get back in your jet. You can take 20 bullets to your chest from an assault rifle, but someone can bring you back to life with a defib. You can take a blow torch and repair a wooden bridge. Realism!!!!

"We literally gonna play as Dora the Explorer"

I dated a Latina woman once. They're no joke and can be kind of scary. This will probably be the most realistic part of the game.

There is a difference between being so stuck on realism that the gameplay suffers and being so opposed to realism that the gameplay suffers. There's a happy medium. Yes, a game based on historical battlefields should err closer to the side of realism whenever it can do so without also making the game boring and without ruining what makes the game enjoyable to play, and no it isn't unreasonable for consumers to want that.

Bayonetta is a witch. Samus is in a space suit and fighting aliens. I've not played Horizon or Beyond Good & Evil, but doesn't the chick in Beyond Good & Evil run around with a talking pig, and isn't Horizon Zero Dawn set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland ruled by robots? None of those games are presented in any sense of realism, so I'm not sure they're actually relevant to the argument you're trying to make here.
By contrast, Far Cry 6 seems to be very much set in a country that it would be hard not to confuse with actual, modern-day Cuba. Lara Croft is the only protagonist you mentioned who is presented in a game that actually seeks this level of a realistic scenario. I've only played the first modern game in this series, and none of the original games, but in playing that game it never felt to me like Lara Croft was ever presented as anything more than an educated woman who likes exploring and treasure hunting, but gets caught in a bad situation and has to fight to survive. She is not a "Mary Sue" Rey-from-Star-Wars type by any means. The game I played gave her a very believable level of ability that didn't make the game absolutely goofy and outrageous. I would say Lara Croft is an example of a realistic female protagonist that actually works and that Lara Croft as a protagonist is actually in conflict with the point you're trying to make. I'd say Lara Croft is a great example of the argument for more realistic heroes in games that are going for a certain level of realism. Maybe that's what this character in Far Cry 6 will be. We shall see.

I enjoyed Far Cry 5 way more than I thought I would (although it did go on a bit too long), so I'm looking forward to hearing more about this.
