Fallout 4 - Your favorite character builds

I've spent countless hours with this game and had various play-throughs so far. About to start again and I'm looking for a different character build than the balanced but not specialized build that I usually do. I have some ideas from online articles but looking for some recommendations. I've been thinking about either a power armor tank build or a VATS stealth build. Throw up some ideas and how to build em, if you don't mind.

VATS stealth build
This was fun with perk points in rifles

Perk points in semi-auto rifles or whatever and all the sneaking perks maxed out. Pretty much like the sneak archer in Skyrim. For some reason I always end up as this, but it's fun sneaking around and sniping people/things. I hardly ever used a full auto on FO4

Right now, I'm planning on doing this build. I still want to use power armor a bit though. I always want to use auto rifles but semi-auto seems like it has the biggest selection of all the guns in the game.

My favorite was a stealthy pistol user. toward the end I could stealth just about anywhere and take out whole rooms of enemies before anyone knew I was there.
Fun.
Fun.

Dumb luck builds are fun.

Full auto guns suck. They tend to be way less powerful and have bad aim. You're just gonna be spraying bullets everywhere.

My favorite build is a high strength/Agility character that uses silenced weapons and melee. My characters are very much OP even for Survival mode, which is what mode I play in.

Survival mode is awesome. I don't remember the last time I've been challenged by a game like that. It's definitely frustrating at times but it makes me want to keep playing.

Stealth + semi auto rifles. Lol your way to the bank.

After seven years lurking on TD it's this thread that finally moves me to pop my cherry.
Greetings.
My favorite FO4 build was a guy named "Bonk". I decided to do a run that was melee only, use no power armor, and also use only the first handheld weapon I found. No other weapons. Also put difficulty on Advanced/Hard (whatever is below Survival).
It was a hoot. Hard at first, but I eventually ending up rolling with Strong as a companion and if you mod up his sledge and mini-gun he's pretty awesome.
What makes it fun is that with melee only you plan your fights differently. Sometimes you draw out enemies one by one to divide and conquer. Other times you quick save, run into the middle of the pack, and rage like a drunken spider monkey.
Won't say what the first melee weapon is but it's not bad after you max it out.

It's a baton.
Surprise

Well you're no fun.
But figuring out how to fight a Deathclaw with a baton certainly was.
Just throwing out an idea for OP.

The first sentence of his post says he's played countless hours of the game
just giving you a hard time.

I didn't like the original Survival mode when the game first came out, but after enough players complained about it on Bethesda's forum, they completely revamped it. Its definitely more immersive than any other mode.

What did they change about it?

Survival mode makes the random junk you pick up that much more valuable. Even dumb stuff like radroach meat is valuable to carry around to stay alive. It definitely seems like the game was designed for survival and the easier modes are just there.

Yeah, I suppose knowing it's a baton is a mystery to pretty much no-one who has ever played the game.

Thanks for the welcome and good luck on your next play through.
FO4 is a fantastic game, but as soon as I can figure out how to upload Curie at the Memory Den I'm going to push the keyboard away. At least for awhile.

I usually do high Luck or Strength builds. This time I tried a high Agility build, the Blitz perk is absolutely fantastic and has completely changed how I wanted to build my character. I gravitated towards a melee build because I took the Blitz perk very early in the game.
