You guys find any new spirit ashes you like? I’m about to try this Orvis one and see how it does.

I made it to the final boss of the DLC and I have been getting my shite wrecked for 2 solid days . Closest I’ve gotten was about 50% health.

I’m stuck on Romina. Taking another swipe at her later.

Not the person you asked but yeah…that’s him. And he was a bitttttch to fight. Probably in my top 5 bosses in terms of difficulty in the DLC. I just entered Enir Ilim last night after having cleared every other boss in the game and doing as much NPC stuff as I could. Finally ready for the end game although I am a little concerned that I am only at scadutree level 16. I clearly left some unfound fragments out there

Just entered Enir Ilim myself. No shields, no magic, no summons, no ashes.

After spending so much time doing exploration and optional stuff, I beat the living frick out of Messmer and Romina. 3rd-tried the former, 1st-tried the latter.

So far, Rellana is still the best designed boss of the DLC. Messmer is a close second. Both have amazing movesets, fair HP pools, proper punish windows, and great aesthetics

Gaius is by far the shittiest designed boss. Clearly was not playtested

Pretty disappointed with Bayle tbh. For all the build-up and hoopla on the approach, I beat his frickin arse. I died more to the ancient dragon right before him thanks to the water in the arena shooting lightning AOEs all over

I also destroyed Messmer and Romina. I think I ended up finding them much later than intended somehow.

I got to Dragon Peak pretty early and got embarrassed by Senseeax and Bayle originally. Went and upgraded myself for a while before going back. Still found them both to be difficult with my play style but eventually got them. And this coming from someone who usually finds dragon fights to be pretty easy

Slouch here. Over the last week I defeated Starcourse Radahn and Misbegotten Warrior and his annoying no staggering Crucible Knight buddy.

Also did a fair amount of rune farming and I'm up to level 92 now, I believe.

Discovering underground areas in this game recently kind of blew my mind.

yeah thats one of the best moments you'll have playing. I was playing coop with a buddy on PC and he ran right by the elevator in the woods, took everything in me not to pull him back. Want him to find it on his own first

finding out that the already enormous map has huge underground areas that are't marked on the initial map was definitely a mindblowing experience for me as well.

In the DLC it's a little different in that you can clearly see areas, both high and low, that you know you are supposed to get to, yet finding the way there is a real challenge.

He was probably my toughest fight of the DLC to date. Again...I'm just now starting Enir Ilim so that'll likely change.

I agree it seems the playtesting was subpar for that boss. At least they were willing to adjust with a patch. For the first attempt, he starts way off in the distance and ultimately gets to you riding his boar. If you die and retry it, he's already there and gets to you before you can get an Ash Summons out. I think with one of the latest patches they changed this so that he starts way off in the distance every time. I haven't had the chance to confirm since I would need to do a 2nd playthrough, but that's at least something they recognzied as needing fixing, and they actually fixed it. His move set is still a pain in the arse but at least you have a fighting chance.

Yeah the starting distance pre-patch was an absolute nightmare. Saw a video of what it changed to post-patch and its much more forgivable. No ashes for me so didn't matter a ton but I can see why it would infuriate others

One of the big issues is that his hitboxes are completely fricked up. It appears that each tusk has its own hitbox, as well as each of his rear legs. So sometimes you take normal damage from his charge or rear kick, and sometimes you take double damage (my VIG was low so I regularly got one-shotted by these attacks when they decided to deal double damage). Pretty egregious oversight. Couple that with the impossibly tight dodge window on his charge and it makes for a frustrating experience. I had to basically take all my armor off and Light Roll to get the I-frames I needed for consistent charge dodges

Ughhh got Metyr the Fingers boss down to legitimately where she has no health that you could see yet she killed me before I could get one more hit. So frustrating

Somebody help me. I’m addicted to this fricking game. I ran the mage up level 121 and the Haligtree and got tired of being a squishy bitch. Restarted a great sword build today. 9 hours later I look up and I’m level 32 and storming The Academy. Beat Margit first try. Godrick 4-5 tries. I think I’m hooked on the sword combat now. Game is totally different with melee than Mage. It’s like a chess match. Mage was fun but it’s ultimately I was playing assassins creed going grace to grace hoping I don’t run out of FP before the next grace. I really didn’t wanna restart. I wanted to finish and hit the DLC. But also wanted a true experience as a melee build. Also helps that I understand the Souls systems now since this was my first game from them.

My melee build is now right around 120. The reason I gave up on my mage was I could not beat that stupid Loretta Knight in the Haligtree. Dozens and dozens of attempts. Just so damn squishy. Managing two different flask.

First time with my melee tank. I freaking rinsed him. I’m well over 100 hours of playing time between that mage build and melee build and i still feel like there’s so much I haven’t explored at all. This game is insanely huge. Highly addicting. Greatest of all time levels.

I can’t believe I have an entire dlc to play as well.

my parries are very inconsistent, so I was able to kill 2 of them over the course of an afternoon lol but there are still a couple unaccounted for.

I dispatched Leda and her squad pretty easily and am now getting wrecked by the final boss. I mean....good lord. Usually I can see a path to victory against even the hardest of bosses but I'm struggling to see one here without making some drastic changes. Problem is that I only have 3 larval tears left so there's not a ton of tinkering that I can do. Another option would be to painstakingly search for all of the fragments that I didn't find. I am currently at Scadutree level 17 so there are a few unaccounted for.

yeah, that second phase is....something. I can no-hit the first phase more often than not, then I'll be lucky to get 5 hits on second phase
