use the talisman that buffs your attacks whenever there's bleed in the area. If he's going to put bleed on you, might as well take advantage of it

I’ve taken a break from bosses and started seeking out items. Messmer and Gaius are kicking my arse.

The exploration in this game is incredibly satisfying. It’s like one huge puzzle.
Gaius is a real bitch. If you don’t kill him on the first try every subsequent attempt has him sprinting at you full speed ahead almost immediately. Doesn’t give you any time to prepare a strategy

I finally finished it. FromSoft are filtering the entire AAA gaming industry and it’s a great thing. 9/10 expansion and could’ve easily been sold as a sequel by a lesser studio.

knowing what I know now, I would have paid the full $70 for this as a standalone game lol. Don't tell FromSoft that though

also, I'm a little irritated at myself for allowing the final boss to be spoiled for me. Yeah, you can probably pick up enough clues to figure it out but I hadn't done so yet when I accidentally saw it somewhere on the web.

I'm going to need to watch a lore video to understand why that is the final boss because the story of the DLC makes no sense to me (not that the story in the base game made much sense to me either)

I’m not as good at the Dark Souls/Elden Ring kind of combat. I’m much better at the Bloodbourne Sekiro style. The final boss took me like 40 tries lol. The new Katanas were my favorite weapon.This post was edited on 7/2/24 at 12:00 pm

This isn't Erdree related, but I'm finally back into this, playing through the base game. I fought Rennala last night. I absolutely loved that experience. The sound and setting was amazing.

I've started probably 4 different characters at this point. The first character was my platinum trophy character at launch. Ended up going through NG+2 or 3 to get the different endings. The other characters I only played through the game once. The final character was my intended DLC character. I've played through the full game several times and I think had finally had enough ....until the DLC came out. Now I can't wait to jump into NG+ with the DLC character and try out a bunch of the new stuff. Getting through the DLC is all about survive and advance so I've only tried a few new weapons and have settled on something that is allowing me to get through the tougher bosses.

I've been using this a lot lately. Not really conducive to my usual play style but it staggers like nothing I've used before. It's practically a cheat code at times.

That's the latest main boss I've taken down. I wandered around a lot and decided I wanted to move the "main story" along. I think I'm like level 54 right now.

it’s not really a huge deal at 54 you’ll be able to redistribute how you want. It’s something you should be thanking about though. You can look up tons of different builds people have made for level 100 and 150 on the wiki and see which ones look cool to you and have the weapons and spells etc you want to use. My first run of the game I did dex/faith. My advice: when in doubt use bleed.

I just keeping putting runes towards vigor, endurance and strength.

Yeah you’ll definitely want to hit the vigor hard cap no matter what so can’t go wrong there. If you’re doing a strength build I’m really not the right person to give you advice though as I never play these games that way. Maybe someone else can tell you the best weapons and gear and what if any dex/faith pair it with.
