EA “Single player games are dead”

Looking back the past 5-6 years it’s pretty obvious that was just on the retarded level of “we call them surprise mechanics. Another EA gem. Well seems they realized this to a degree. Check their releases since 2018, while yes live service and that shite still is like 70% of the output they have taken a quality over quantity approach to singe player even creating a studio whose sole focus will be battlefield campaigns going forward.
Who had EA as one of the better single player game creators in terms of quality not output on their 2023 bingo card? I mean just look at the last 2 things put out by them. Jedi survivor and dead space remake

Jedi Survivor runs like shite. The recent golf game is bare bones and desperately needs a big update. EA is EA still.

I mentioned this in another thread, but I think the overwhelming success of the Mass Effect Legendary Edition release was a bit of a wake up call for the industry. Humans crave stories. It’s hard coded in our evolutionary DNA. Hopefully the industry remembers that Skinner Boxes can only take them so far. If they don’t tell great stories, people will stop getting excited about their product.

Golf game? That isnt the type of game this thread is acknowledging.
I fully admit yearly sports releases with copy printed assets and 95% of the revenue from kiddie gambling on "surprise mechanics is scummy, unforgivable, and should be illegal. Im simply pointing out EA has been a top 5 if not top 3 single player only, narrative driven, type game publisher since about 2018 they dont release that many or too often but they do have a very high hit rate.

CPU optimization still isn’t good, but I would say the game has made it into “good performance” territory, though it still has a ways to go before making it to very good, much less great.
But I’m currently playing it with a 3080 and a 5800x on Epic with RT on and I’m nearly always above 60fps, usually hovering around 75fps or so.

Well I mean, I explained in my post. They have patched the game more and at a much more expedient rate than any launch i have personally ever seen. I refuse to believe anyone playing this today on 5/20 thinks this game "runs like shite" especially on console. I read your post and sounds like PC has reached not bad enough to interrupt or ruin my experience with an amazing game territory

Yes, we have bigger brains than a newt we know all the bad shite theyve done, still check their single player output since 2018 and go ahead and tell me its bad. I would love to hear you pretzel yourself into that terrible idea. Its not like they made 1 game and they have an extremely promising next 5-10 outlook in this regard of game type. We dont have to pardon them for being shitty in the past and likely still to this day and always, but we cant compliment them?

First off, go frick yourself.
Secondly, EA has been EA their entire existence. Meaning, they make a game IP and that game stays very close to it for the remainder of the franchise. Reskins, slight tweaks, patches but overall the same engine and core. New stuff seems to be lacking.
That's all I'm saying.

While I wouldnt Say Jedi Survivor is radically different than Fallen Order in its basic fundamentals (combat is still a sekiro light, there is still metroid map exploration but turned down, etc) that fine tuned a lot of those base elements and stripped the shitty parts while adding a bunch of new complimentary good things. So a release not even a month old proves you wrong.
I am not here to white knight for EA nor will I ever do that but I will give anyone credit for doing good things and, like I said, check out their single player linear style story focus releases since about 2018 and tbh there arent many doing it better quality wise. I think thats worth celebrating, while still knowing and condemning the rest of the bs they do.

I mean I am not even a huge deadspace fan but EA has released, in my humble opinion, at the very least 2 of the top what? 5-6 Single player story focused games in the past 5 months?

It is a bit hilarious I remember all the bitching about lack of single player games being made anymore and people being tired of live service bullshite. Then a company slowly but steadily releases mostly high quality games like the former focusing on quality people bitch because its muh EA. I maintain EA is still shitty for all their pedo gambling in shite like FIFA and reskinning madden yearly, but the publishers you like do heinous shite as well. It is like nothing will ever please some of you and just saying hey EA youre doing good in this one area keep it up! Isnt something acceptable to say. It is bullshite hypocrisy

Jedi was fun. I didn't realize they made Hogwarts. That is good as well.
I've enjoyed the old EA sports games. But it's EA. And what I mean by that is that you know what you are getting to an extent. Not always applicable.
