Also when I worked at GameStop before the current gen was out, a shite ton of playstation 2s were brought back or traded in for disc read errors. The RROD thing is stupid because that was eliminated a while back and MS even offered 3 year warranties on initial consoles effected by it. At that point Sony was charging about 600 for their console still, damn!

Hopefully my PS3 isn't bricked. I have an upgraded 1 TB hard drive in my PS3. I will be upset if it won't work.

It's easily fixable. It's not going to brick it permanently like a RROD. You'll be fine

I updated my 250 slim yesterday and played TLOU for about 3 hours and everything seemed fine

My ps3 started running a little loud but I think it's time to blow some of the dust out of the vents and stuff

Has it been confirmed if this just affects systems with updated hard drives?

You will be fine. If you can't tell it is the usual suspects trolling

TLOU is having a few problems. But if it is running loud you may need to clean it. The game is pretty demanding and it could just be getting overheated.

That's what I was kind of figuring too. Right when it started running loud the game started to glitch out a bit, then it worked fine. I figure the game is just demanding for the system

Correct..

But there are a few rare bugs out there that are breaking the game. You can go to ND forums and read about them. It really depends on what PS3 version you have, from the research I have done. (launch version) Mine happens to be one. I can't play it without my PS3 shutting off by itself in certain areas. But ND is suppose to be making a patch to fix this. It's strange because it does not relate to over heating at all.

There is a post on Reddit front page about it, so there is some validity to it.

Looks like Sony has entirely removed update 4.45, so yea there is validity to it

A patch is supposed to be released either today or tomorrow, so those affected by 4.45 can download the update on their PC to a USB drive and boot the PS3 up in safe mode to install the patch to remove the bricking of the PS3. Hopefully the patch doesn't format the hard drives.

Yes, I was just saying it wasn't as widespread as made to seem and it is fixable.
