If Diablo mobile makes billions you likely will never see a Diablo 4 proper.

They said they're working on it. You can be skeptical about it or be patient. I feel that Blizzard generally does well by their fanbase, even if it's not in the timeline they had expected.

Just watched the event for the first time. That was hard to finish. It was cringy at times.

Then I began feeling sorry for the one dev who was clearly rattled. Poor guy is just a slave to the money like us all.

Ya that Wyatt guy had absolutely nothing to do with the creation of this game and no say in anything. This was a business directive from executives that creatives had absolutely no say in.

I get the realities of business but I can't stand all the PR bullshite.

Release your mobile cash grab if you have to, don't pretend it's something other than what it is.

so blizzard is re-releasing:

17 year old game on a phone
13 year old game (wow classic)
and a 15 year old game (Warcraft 3), a genre that is mostly dead. but launched the MOBA scene at least.

such innovation.

Is it really necessary to be innovative when they have nothing but success with anything their name touches?

You could slap a Diablo/WoW/Starcraft/Overwatch sticker on that turd you shite out this morning and it would be golden.

1) The mobile game isn't a remake of D1, so that point is wrong.

2) Blizzard resisted WoW Classic and caught huge flack for saying that it was something the fanbase thought they wanted, but didn't want. They are literally making this because their customer base demanded it.

3) Warcraft 3 remastered is something the fans wanted. Every other company has been making remakes/remasters for the better part of 2 decades and Blizzard just got into it with Starcraft remastered and it did well enough for them to remake Warcraft 3. Most people were expecting Diablo 2 remastered and its absence added to the backlash against Immortal.

You can shite on Blizzard plenty enough for Diablo Immortal. You don't have to make up stupid shite.

I won't blame it on Trump, but that's where we are right now.

The mobile game doesn't bother me. It was just really bad timing. Fans are clamoring for Diablo 4 and/or Diablo 2 remaster, and you toy with them by releasing a mobile game. If they are working on Diablo 4, announce it the way Bethesda did Elder Scrolls VI.

WoW Classic was in response to the number of private classic servers that have sprung up over the years. Blizzard looked like the villain having to shut them down. Coming out with their own version was about all they could do.

seems like this mobile game is just an outsourced project to China and they are re-skinning some shite google play store app and slapping a blizzard logo on it.

Trump didn't give us outrage culture, outrage culture gave us Trump.

Social media, specifically Twitter, is responsible for everyone being outraged about everything all the time. It's trivially easy to form a loud, angry mob now.

Extremist, vocal minorities have always existed and Twitter is the perfect platform for them.

I'd agree with this. For better for worse.

100% this. Diablo getting a mobile game isn't inherently wrong. It's the context surrounding all of it. Building up hype saying we're working on 'multiple projects.' Announcing a mobile game at your big fan exp in front of a crowd of hardcore PC enthusiasts. Being caught off guard that they would react this way.

They do what Bethesda did and they get the same reaction. Just tell us D4 is coming with a logo or some shite and the mobile Diablo isn't as tough a pill to swallow.

It's just incredibly frustrating watching how out of touch Blizzard was with this announcement.

Don't let this distract you from the fact that a non Korean won the Starcraft 2 Blizzcon final for the first time ever!
