I've got to agree here as well. I've been running a semi-auto rifle in crucible and it has a lot of the characteristics of the DMR/BR.

I agree. And the sniper rifle seems extremely similar as far as lead/hitboxes/etc...

Do you people not realize the same developer made this and Halo? I think that's obvious so what's the huge deal if parts of it "feel like Halo?" A game that is universally liked and enjoyed.

Do you not realize halo is a dead franchise, and there's no way a company would attempt to mask its dead franchise as a new ip?

No big deal at all. I actually enjoy it.

I need to spend more time on my load out. I felt like it was taking me 10 shots to drop someone and other people were darn near insta-killing me. For the first time in a long time, I like a campaign much better than multi. Usually I like all multis the first time I play them before they get annoying but something about Destiny PvP was totally unappealing.
Had some good times knocking out some difficult missions.

Titan here with Cydonia AR that has the damage boost for lower half of the mag, 155 def, enough discipline to make my grenade bonus 100% and strength for 30% on the melee. I pretty much run only devil's lair and I love it. I can't wait for full retail

its a lot harder to shoot without zooming in with auto rifles (and pretty much any weapon) . That makes the gameplay significantly different than halo. Also, Sensitivity in the X and y axes is different to a degree I really don't like. The beta for the xbone feels like there is a lot of input lag

I'm not getting the same feel as halo like others are saying

Yeah but you do more damage if you don't aim. Also of course it's harder to hit somebody if you don't aim down the sights.

Hip fire should be less accurate, it's pretty much for up close and personally situations only.

That's not how halo played. The DMR was fine in mid-range and close battles without zooming in. Same with battle rifle. That was the gameplay of halo. You can't do that in this game

I don't really care. I'm explaining how this doesn't feel like halo

This isn't Halo, there are just similarities between the two games. They have made advancements to gun play since Halo 2.

played the last mission last night with two friends.

That fight took us well over 1 hour to beat. The mission probably 2-3 hours. We were level 6 going into that mission playing it on hard. Even though it took as long as it did I had a blast playing it.

After that we played crucible. I had the same experience with that as some of you. I would get 2-3 shot by an assault rifle, but my rifle took a whole magazine to kill the other guy. PVP needs some mechanic work but other than that this game is solid.

Just need to level up your guns. Once I got a 57 auto rifle and 62 scout rifle, it was pretty easy to get kills.

Also, sniper rifle on the moon is money. Two shot body kill, one shot head kill.

hmm I don't know if I like it having a load out pre assembled for all classes or my own gear.

Huh?

The loadout is whatever you want it to be.

The crucible available is suppose to put all weapons, players on equal footing. Attack points and defense don't count. There is a second crucible that's available at random times that takes into account gear and weapon strengths.

The beta has had a lot lag in pvp sometimes. Also, head shots will take you down extremely fast.

quote:

In standard Crucible games, Level advantages are removed and weapon damage is normalized across the board, though Bungie has yet to detail exactly how weapon stats like ” impact” apply to standard PvP.  This makes it easy for any player to jump in, regardless of their progress in PvE.

Really? Every game I've played, my more powerful guns do better than their less powerful versions.

This has been an issue. Not necessarily movement lag, but hit detection lag has been bad.
