The formula is stale. The recent gameplay loop is very shallow and tedious. Other than the gameplay itself or friends, there's no real reason to play. The rewards system is terrible, and what rewards you get are side grades at absolute best. Player agency is minimal. Build crafting...not really any of that. There's no real challenge. A mile wide, an inch deep...

I played a few hours this weekend. All of this is accurate. I guess I had to see for myself. To your point, can we get away from collecting ingredients for some event and baking/making shite. That is boring for dawning (or whatever its called, you know). This mixing, tasting, whatever is so.....just stupid to put this out.

Honestly, it's not much different than most other games at this point. Most players want the best stuff just handed to them, so difficulty is down, power creep is ridiculous, etc.
I'm gravitating more towards challenging single player games these days...something where gear and build choices matter at least a little.

Exotic class items are attainable through festival of the lost right now, so I’ll grabbing them while I can. But it’s classic bungo, shipped with a ton of bugs, many still present from prior years iterations. New dungeon is fine, nothing great. Recent ring bug is game breaking and a huge scandal. What a mess

Season 2 came out this week. While I'm not keeping up with everything, I like the return to the prison of Elders. The new Tomb of Elders is kind of fun, for now.
ETA: This isn't necessarily a reply for you, Dev. My point is that the Tomb, while isn't exactly challenging, it doesn't play or feel like the same ole shite.
