the lightning gargoyle is easy once you kill the first one.

Just target him and strafe.

I think that is the key to fighting most enemies....strafing.

Strafing and roll-dodging are so crucial in this game. Even the most tank class cannot hope to match what is thrown your way.

Just started playing (360) on Thursday. I have a level 15 Pyromancer and I'm working on taking out that first black knight and Havel. The Taurus Demon and Asylum Demon were a cake walk. NOTHING beats the atmosphere in Dark Souls. You can have Skyrim, I'll be playing this.

Oh, I'm sure just about everything after the Undead Parish will destroy me. Can't wait to encounter my first Mimic. Loved hearing Giant Bomb talk about this game, but Gerstman saying he doesn't understand why anyone would want to play Dark Souls and then listening to him talk about Spider-Man Edge of Time for 5 minutes (which he beat) is just a giant facepalm.

ran into this beast last night. im at SL35. think ill have to come back and fight it later.

and i don't think there is a way to summon other players to help fight it right? i was hollow and looking to put down a stone to help others. but the option was not available

You probably can kill him but it would take a long time, better to come back later on, no need to use a shield in this fight as the boss can almost one-shot you.

there is a bonfire right there where he is throwing fireballs. You should see a gap in the wall or some sort of indication that you can drop down off the side to a small balcony with a bonfire. I think you juump off from the main level that he throwing fireballs on.

I'm currently at Anor Lando. Its kinda kicking my arse. I'm slowly making my way through. The difficulty has definitely gone up, at least in terms of how much you have to repeat when you die.

I was fortunate enough to get a lightning spear from the insta-death chest in Sen's Fortress.
Have it upgraded twice and it is doing work. The best part about it is the fact that you can block while attacking.

HArdest Boss fight so far:

The Wolf Sif or whatever you call him. Took me at least 30 tries.

Do I need to be able to play online in order to beat/enjoy this game? Never played Demon Souls but this game keeps daring me to try it.

No you don't need online to beat the game, and although online does make the game a little more enjoybale it is definitely not a deal breaker.

The only thing online will do is allow for invasions on and from other players, bloodstains (which shows other player's deaths), and for notes that other online players leave on the ground to give hints as to how to proceed in certain situations.
